Well, that's one round down in our hypothetical but still fun field of twenty for NCAA FBS Football! The first round 'play-in' games if you will, all were pretty solid matchups and all featured some pretty strong squads.

Northern Illinois at Michigan

Northern Illinois had a magical sort of year leading up to their real-to-life crushing defeat from Florida State. In real life, the Huskies were just no match for the upper echelon of college football. On the digital football field, not much changed. Michigan built a 30-0 lead before Northern Illinois finally reached paydirt. This was a simple affair, Michigan won and advances to face Notre Dame in round two. 33-7 Michigan

Oklahoma at Nebraska

One great possibility a playoff gives is the renewal of old rivalries. While old school Oklahoma/Nebraska games also had a lot on the line, this one was yet another do or die version in the series. The first half was close, with Landry Jones struggling early by throwing a pick to set up a Nebraska field goal. Both offenses sputtered at the start, with Nebraska converting three field goals to lead the Sooners 9-7 at the half. However, the second half was all Oklahoma, with Landry Jones connecting with Justin Brown and Kenny Stills for touchdown balls. Huskers add a couple of field goals, but Sooners win and advance. 28-15 Oklahoma

Boise State at Oregon State

In a battle for supremacy in the Pacific Northwest, this was an interesting game through and through. Both teams had trouble getting the offense going, with the first offensive touchdown coming late in the third quarter which put Oregon State up 13-10 on a 8 yard Storm Woods run. Boise answered back as Joe Southwick led the Broncos down the field on a 77 yard touchdown drive of destiny to put Boise over the top as time ran out for a date with Florida in round two. 17-13 Boise State

Louisville at Clemson

This one was fun. Teddy Bridgewater led the Cardinals to touchdown drives in each quarter, but it was the touchdown in overtime that put the Cardinals over the top. Clemson had to drive the field to tie the game at the end, as Tajh Boyd connected with Sammy Watkins for a 22 yard touchdown pass. However, on the first possession in overtime, Boyd went from hero to goat, as he fumbled the ball away on a big hit in the backfield. Bridgewater connected with Devante Parker for 24 yard touchdown pass two plays in to the second overtime drive to give Louisville the win. 35-28 Cardinals in Overtime

All simulations are ran in exhibition mode computer vs computer with 8 minute quarters and updated rosters to accurately reflect each team's end of season rosters.
