The Yankees suffered a 5-0 loss to the Blue Jays last night, cutting their AL East lead to 7 and a half games over the Rays.

Mark Teixeira went 2-for-4 to provide a small jolt for the offense.

Freddy Garcia (14-8) was the starter and loser, working 6 and a third inning allowing 4 runs on 6 hits in defeat. Joe Girardi gave an assessment after the team's performance, saying, "I'm lucky enough that this team has built up such a lead in the division.
