Custom soundtracks, where art thou depth?
Posted on January 5, 2009 at 03:31 AM.
I wish the custom sound tracks were more detailed. Like where you can go in and choose the snippet of the song you want to hear at a given time.

Like in MLB 2k8, I chose "Wherever I may roam" as a walkup ditty for my player. Well it just plays the first 5-8 seconds of the song (which in Metallica's case, never includes words), when I wanted to hear:

"Carved upon my stone, My body lies but still I roam"

but instead get the opening Bass riff and no words at all.

Give us more time slots to choose a song. Ex:

Action Replays
First Downs
20 yard gain
30 yard gain
40+ yard gain
Powerplay goal
Shorthanded goal
Double Play
7th inning stretch
2 outs in the top of the 9th (winning)
Final minute of a close game
Overtime
Shootout
etc. etc.

Ya dig OSers?

I completly agree. One thing I loved about the NHL series on the PC is you could set up ditties for almost any situation in the game.

Intro
Shorthanded Goal
Power Play Goal
1st 2nd 3rd and OT periods
Wins and Losses
Stoppages
Offsides
Etc

If I remember correctly you could even download a special tool that would let you pick which part of the song you wanted to play. This kind of thing needs to be implemented in console games. It would really add to the immersion factor lacking in alot of games.

I never tried out the batter song walk ups in 2k8, but did it not have an editor where you could select what part of the song you wanted? I know that in 2k6 you could select which part of the song you wanted to play.
