Another year, another Madden.
With the NFL season winding down, many sports gamers already have begun removing Madden from their gaming consoles and replacing it with offerings from other sports. However, as Lee Corso would say: ďnot so fast my friends.Ē

Four years ago, the New York Giants were heavy underdogs heading into Super Bowl XLII against the undefeated New England Patriots. Thanks to a dominant pass rush and some sticky fingers (and helmet) by wide receiver David Tyree, the Giants won 17-14.

Just like Mike Gundy, I'm a man and I'm 40; and my fingers are not as nimble as they used to be.
This can be quite a problem when it comes to playing my favorite sports video games. As I have grown older and moved from the more simplistic gaming systems like the Atari to the much more intricate current generation consoles, itís becoming more and more difficult for me to control the action on the cyber field.
Some of my troubles have to do with my advancing age -- the reflexes arenít quite at the level of my 20-year-old self. Some, though, has to do with the more and more complicated control schemes for these games.
When you require the speed and dexterity of Lt. Cmdr. Data to call an audible or a hot route in Madden, or to simply call an offensive play in NBA 2K12, then there is a deeper issue.
Have sports video game controls became too complicated for their own good? Letís take a look.

Letís face it, Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson, aka CJ2K, stunk this season. The back was more like CJ2Lame.
In the past, such dips in production in real life were not reflected on the virtual gridiron of Madden. Recently, however, EA Sports has done a good job tinkering with player ratings each week in its flagship sports title. As happens each Sunday, some players get better while others regress.
With the regular season over and approximately 17 roster updates here and gone, letís take a look at some of the players who made the biggest rating jumps ó and dips ó from the first to the final roster update in Madden 12.

Madden is everywhere. Literally.
The game is on virtually every gaming device known to man. If you have an iPad or iPhone, you are probably enamored with the idea of being able to line up with your favorite team while waiting for a bus, in line for an espresso or lounging around with a few minutes to kill.

An owner of the Miami Heat in NBA 2K12 doesnít have to do too much to get the franchise in position to compete for an NBA title. In the video game world this truly is a Dream Team, but that doesnít mean the roster is good enough as is, even with the Shane Battier signing.
Here are a few moves that can be made to set the Heat up for greatness, this season and beyond.

Now that the NBA lockout is over and the season is scheduled to start on Christmas Day -- joy to the world, King James will come -- it's a perfect time to explore the My Player mode in NBA 2K12 .
Iím usually not a big fan of such modes, but I gave this one a whirl because I always wanted to be a 6-foot point guard with mad hops and skills. And let me tell you, this mode can be addicting if you donít mind occasional bursts of frustration because of your boneheaded AI teammates. This tutorial is all about the fictional point guard from Ohio named World B. Free II.

Think your speedy third-string quarterback in Madden 12 would make a better wide receiver? Have an inkling that your gifted wideout could hack it at tight end? Ever wonder if your slow-footed corner would be better suited as a strong safety?

Sales of NBA 2K12 look to be well below last year's record-breaking totals. By all accounts the NBA Lockout, plus a less than enticing effort, has given many gamers enough reason to not fork over $60 for the game this year. Given the end of the lockout and the reintroduction of accurate and up to date rosters, should gamers who passed up on the game initially take a look at the game one more time?

Kinect games have been hit or miss since the Xbox 360 motion sensing peripheral was unleashed on the gaming masses last year. But now, gaming companies are starting to take risks with the Kinect technology.
Blitz Games dives in with Michael Phelps: Push the Limit, a rather fun title that does a good job recreating the feeling of reaching for that wall at the end of a race without the water.

Madden Ultimate Team has seen many changes since it made its debut in Madden 10.
Some of the improvements have been good, such as being able to play your friends online and the ability to trade your unwanted cards; the old auction system was very flawed.
The good news is you can build a powerhouse team in MUT without dipping into your cache of Microsoft Points, because let's be hontest, who wants to spend real money on virtual cards? Those micro-transactions can drain your piggy bank in a hurry. You can succeed in MUT without being a virtual version of Jerry Jones or Daniel Snyder.
Here are some tips to build your team the good old fashioned way: with some hard work, ingenuity and, yes, a little bit if luck.
