What A Great Start In New Jersey
Posted on December 24, 2008 at 04:37 PM.
The Newark Nightmare come out with a great 2-0 start. The nightmare defense seems like an actual nightmare for Running Backs and Quarterbacks. Starting out both games behind the opponent, able to come back without letting anymore points scored by the other team for the rest of the game seems like there strategy. "Both games were farther away then they seemed" said Richard "Night Train" Lane in his unknown language

The original idea for the Nightmare seemed to be to run the ball all over teams, but since HB Dalton Hililard has started out bad, leaving a little more workload to FB Elbert "Ickey" woods and the recently unknown RB Adam Bennett.

What has kept this offense alive is Bernie Kosar. His first game looked bad statistically, but he made the plays when needed and he did even better during the second game.

Reporter: Good afternoon coach, lets get right into this interview. What were your preseason expectations coming into this new league?
Coach KJ: Championship. Nothing else but that. You gotta reach for the moon, even if you miss, your still amoungst the stars. That's how I am going to look at this new season.

Reporter: Kind of cocky coach, where does this confidence come from?
Coach KJ: Defense. We are going to win on the defensive side of the ball this year, I just know it.

Reporter: What do you think of the 2 and 0 start for this team, being new to the team?
Coach KJ: I think we are looking forward a great season. There are many things we need to work still, one would be our running attack. With the practice games before the season, our two-headed monster of a running attack seemed like it would be great, but Dalton (Hilliard) is not getting much yards so now it is more like Adam (Bennett) and Ickey (Woods) getting some running done. Im going to be working Mr. Hilliard really hard during practice this week.

Reporter: How about your passing attack?
Coach KJ: It is better then what I thought it would be. I've always loved running the ball on any down, but right now my running offense isn't dominating like I thought it would and that made me pass some more to get some points on the board, the little I get.

Reporter: How 'bout that defense, is it going to stay hot like it is now?
Coach KJ: I sure hope so. My run defense has been my specialty for years and I hope is stays strong like always. My defense has two of the, who I think, most physical corners in the league. We have a underated run stopping defense, but we always make good plays. This happens when you have two smart outside linebacker, Dr. Doom (Robert Brazile) and Brad Van Pelt, and a former defensive end, Sean Shelton, playing inside linebacker, as your linebacker core. The deap ball isn't much of a problem either with safties like Willie Wood and Brandon Martinez back there.

Reporter: Thank you very much for the interview coach, good luck next week.
Coach KJ: Yea, good luck to you too *laughs*
