SOS NHL 14 Buffalo Sabres

Welcome to the home of the Buffalo Sabres. This is where you can get all pertainent information on the team from line changes to on the ice if you want to know what's going on this is the place.

We start with the the team being 5th in the Eastern conference and on a roll having won their last 10 in a row. Just past the halfway point of the year the team is looking very strong and seems to have finally found their way. The beginning of the season was very up and down, for every game they won they would lose one.

Very early in the year it looked like they were going to be in full blown rebuild mode, but GM cptnclutch28 had other ideas in mind. Seeing all the young talent and the draft picks that they had stock piled he used this ammo to bring in former Sabres Jason Pominville and Thomas Vanek. This would give the team the fire power up front to compete with the rest of the conference, but he wasn't done there and aquired G Kari Lethonen from Dallas to solidify his net minder for the next few years after the team decided it was time to let long time net minder Ryan Miller go. He has also added a couple other key pieces to the puzzle in C Derek Stephan and LW Carl Hagelin. The Sabres also decided to bring in LW TJ Galiardi in the absence of Cory Conacher, the team while still very young has a lot of potential which should make Sabres fans happy. GM cptnclutch has been heard saying that he is looking for a defenseman to help solidify the back end of things so be on the lookout come trade deadline time for another deal to help push the team over the top and make a deep playoff run.

While the team may be firing on all cylinders right now there have been some key injuries which perpetuated the up and down start to the season. LW Cory Conacher was sidelined for almost half the season with a concussion which provoked some of the moves to bring in more talent. The latest of injuries has come upon C Cody Hodgson who will be out for most of the remainder of the regular season. Hopefully by the time he gets back the team will still be in contention for a playoff spot and he can be a much needed shot in the arm. He was on pace for a career high in points and seemed to be a really reliable faceoff man.

As of right now the Sabres have a very solid offense and have some young but good pieces on the defensive side. Here is your current Sabres lineup
