Seattle Saints - NE Oklahoma Sidekicks 0 - 5

Date: 6/9/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 5547166
Arena: Seattle Saints Arena
Crowd: 7000

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Seattle Saints Arena saw a crowd turnout of 7000. Seattle had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Frantz - Bowser, Hock-Lai, Trejo, Fisk - Vanhorn, Cardona, Wilson, Lively - Burch, Bagley.

Sidekicks started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Podboj - Johnson, Vikin, Thompson - Needham, Andersson, Stensson, Anduaga, Winters - Tuvin, Perez.

Byron Johnson gave the visitors the lead in the 11th minute with 0 - 1. The goal was scored from the penalty spot after a handball call in the penalty area. In the games 18:th minute Sidekicks´s Patrik Tuvin fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Patrik Tuvin for taking a dive. After 21 minutes Seattle´s Chad Fisk contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. The visitors Donny Winters took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 29:th minute. 0 - 2 for Sidekicks. The visitors Patrik Tuvin took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 33rd minute. 0 - 3 for Sidekicks. The structure of the game started to change as Sidekicks decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Byron Johnson could have added one to the visitors lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower. A misunderstanding between the visitors keeper Admir Podboj and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for Seattle, but August Burch´s finish was way to lame. In the games 42nd minute Seattle´s Omar Lively fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Omar Lively for taking a dive. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 3. Sidekicks, bringing the final ball possession rate to 83 percent, dominated the battle.

Donny Winters was doing a great job at his wing, sending in brilliant passes to his team mates in the middle. Göran Andersson increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 4. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 82nd minute Sidekicks goal, making it 0 - 5. Patrik Tuvin was noted down as the scorer. After the ball got lifted in from the left Donald Thompson was on his own in the home side´s penalty area 86 minutes into the game, and should have scored, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. After 88 minutes Seattle´s Terrance Wilson contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Seattles Oliver Bowser got himself booked after a foul. Sidekicks held the ball, with a clear 86 percent possession rate.

The most dominating Seattle player was without a doubt August Burch. However, Kenton Vanhorn made a disastrous appearance. Sidekicks´s best player was Göran Andersson. Mats Vikin on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 5.

Hattrick hates me for other reasons... like not allowing me to win.
