Now that I am more confortabke with OOTP5 I would like to find a good online league. Anyone here in or know of any that have openings?

This is the league I'm in:

Baltimore and Seattle are open (though I don't know in what shape they are).

Celeval is the Commish. Check his IM info and email to ask to join.

I'm in that league too, and I'd recommend it. To clarify a little, we're using OOTP 4 right now, but we're in the LCS, and during the offseason, we're making the switch to OOTP 5.

Well, we do not have a opening currently, but we always invite newcomers (especially those from New England) to take a look at the JBL, linked in my signature.

If you are looking for something a bit different, check it out. It is a league based on the real Japanese Baseball League. Fake players, and we expanded by 4 teams a few years back.
