Just sat down and watched the first half of the game... I just watched the most exciting half of MLS soccer I have ever seen... And it is still 0-0...

I have watched some MLS before but have been rather disappointed most everytime I have watched... Being here in NC we get no coverage of any MLS team other than just the MLS Game of the Week on ESPN2...

I just thought I would give MLS some props for the product they seem to be putting out there now... Anyone interested in soccer who hasn't given it a try should tune in for the second half on ESPN2...

I watched it too. I came home from the place where I was watching it though. Some good opportunities for both sides

get rid of the daft nicknames and just have Los Angeles vs New York. it'd be much better.

I always been curious, where do the European names come from, not just soccer, but hockey and basketball.

OK Andy. That makes sense.

Whose playing?

LA and NY.

Lakers-Knicks
Clips-Knicks
Dodgers-Mets
Dodgers-Yankees
Kings-Isles
Kings-Rangers
Sparks-Liberty

And probably a few more

It was a great game and a bunch of key players were missing due to injury or playing on the national team

If anyone has been watching since it started it amazes me have much better it has gotten

I totally agree... The fact that virtually none of the top names were in this lineup (save guevara and hartman - and maybe jones) made me even more surprised how well played this match was.

Both teams had lots of chances that were well earned and not simply screw ups on the defenses part... I jones for great soccer action and finally an MLS game that I have been able to witness fit the bill...

Earlier in the year I tried to watch some of the other Saturday ESPN games and was dissapointed (namely the opening day game at Dallas). The play was nothing like what I saw yeasterday - and they played on that crappy turf with all of the lacrosse and football markings - bad idea...

Condors - Do you find that the US national team players usually go all out in MLS or do you find that they only show what they have in spurts during the game... I ask because I have never been as impresses with DMB or Landon Donovan in the matches I have watched them play in outside of national side games. (Brian McBride is different - he has always impressed me when I see him play)...

I would love to catch a USMNT game in person or even a MLS game in person... any idea how much it cost to attend either...
The only MLS side that is within 8 hours of me is DC United... (I live in NC)

DMB and Donovon i i have seen them dominate games in the mls i think they are both smaller guys and if a team focuses on them trying to get them out of there game (donovon espcially) it can take its toll week after week. When they are on the field together on the same team though they have played very well together and make thing diffcult for any team when they make overlapping runs together
