OT - First Heat Wave

The first heat wave for the Philadelphia area is here...and I couldn't be more miserable. God damn it I hate summer. Of course, since it's New Jersey, every heat wave has to be partnered with 100% humidity, which just makes it's 100 times worse.

I'm already waiting for winter...

I live in Jersey, work in NYC. We got screwed. We never had a spring this year, and I also hate summer. I'm waiting for fall. football, leaves on the ground, and crisp, cool air.

The sad thing is, as bad as it feels right now, in the Philly area it's only 28% humidity (current temp: 95). I'm dreading when it actually reaches 100% on a day like today...

It sounds like Iowa, where it's 100 degrees and 100% humidity every single day of the summer.

I still like summer 100 times more than winter.

you guys complaining about summer should move up North, and I don't mean like 30 minutes up North, I mean REALLY up North, where this heat is welcome. I tell ya, when you have snow on the ground for 6 months out of 12, you gladly take a little heat every now and then

I'm from New Jersey, and I desperately miss those summers now that I'm in New Orleans, where it is just like a long extended New Jersey summer from about April til September or October. Least back home it is only for 2 or 3 months where the temp is in the 90 range with high humidity, seems like it is that bad for 4 to 6 months down here.

I enjoy the summer much more than I do the winter. Though late spring is the best month .

Its been in the low-90's this week in Chicago, but surpringily low humidity (~50% today). Usually at this time of the year, being right on the lake, its so humid you can see the moisture floating in the air. Luckily our server room is 67/50% year round - great place to go right after walking to work or coming back in from lunch.

Thumbs up

I say god bless the heat after a long, crappy winter and a cold, damp spring. I will take 90 degrees any day over the crap we've had. It's summer. It's supposed to be hot.

If it stayed 45 degrees year round, I'd be a happy man.

It was like that last summer in New Jersey. Reason #912 why I will never move Oklahoma.

Agree 100%! And when I said snow on the ground for 6 months, I wasn't telling lies. Here, we got our first snow on Halloween evening and up until mid to end of April, there was still snow pretty much on every front yard.

Summer is fun...

It's finally cooled down after a few days of 90's and high humidity. I miss winter.

I went out at 8 this morning and it felt like there was already something suffocating you. I hate this humidity. It's amazing whata difference 15-20 years makes. That's one of the things that I have hated the most about getting older, and I'm far from old still, is the added sensitivity to the weather.

Humidity is evil. That's going to be the one bad thing about my trip to Houston this weekend...
