Hey guys,

If any of you have played in an ESMS or MSWL style league, there is a college football league starting up, where the guy created his own software to run the leagues.

The "Commissioner" I have known online since 1996 and he is the one that got me thinking about an Indoor Soccer Sim way back then (See it took me 5 years to start one).

Anyways, it will be a blast, you create your own university, and play some football.

Visit it http://home.earthlink.net/~tcfa/

Thanks

Just an update, the league is up to 24 teams now, and is growing. The more that join the better the league is going to be.

I join up too.

Hey, can all of us FOF form a conf? Big 12 or something? I see where you have to schedule games every week. Would make it easy if we had it already done before hand.

Yeah we can.

We have July 10th to form a conference.

Who wants to be the conference commissioner?

I am willing to draw it up

I have signed up too. Have read about two paragraphs of the rules and the premises looked like a whole lot of fun. My team is Laval University based out of Pittsfield, MA

I have already had a look at my team and even set up a starting lineup, man I'm a geek.

If there's any room, I'd like to be in the FOF conference too...

Ok, well, I will work on the schematics of the conference at work today, see if I can get a messageboard added for it and then submit it to everyone.

If we do a total FOFC conference that would be a lot of teams.

We may have to set a limit to twelve teams.

Or maybe we could have more than one FOFC conference, like arrange teams according to their region. Something like FOFC East and FOFC West or something like that. That could cut down on travelling costs...

I -think- there are travel costs? So yeah, splitting the conference into friendly geographical regions would probably be a good idea.

On another note. How do I see my team?

FFF, an alerion is sort of an eagle that we usually see in "armoirie" (can't find a translation). The "Université Laval" is my alma mater and their sports teams are the "Rouge et Or" (Red and Gold) but I didn't want that name for my team. I went for something that is part of the school emblem, here's a link to the school's explanation about the word Alérion (warning, this is in French)

Have you found how to look at your roster? if not, here's a direct link...
http://home.earthlink.net/~tcfa/html/teams/MIO.html

You can get to it by going to "member team..." then your team is in there...

It's really simplified and real strategical knowledge of football is not really necessary. If you can follow a football game, you could have fun with it too, maybe learn about the game. Read the rules, they are very, very simple...

Thanks, Frog. I think I've made a big tactical error I set my team up very young, with tons of freshman, and diminishing sophmores to seniors, just like real football. A note to anybody setting their teams up, make your class designations equal. It'll make training your players 'mo betta.

Ok, there are travelling costs for playing away games. Now, this is important, I don't want anything to do with being a commisioner!

I do think we should get a list of teams, regions, and prestiege levels going.

Miami University Redskins, region 5, prestiege 2

edit: I buggered my prestiege. Really thought I'd put in 1 though

dMB, you have 40 BRPs, so I'd guess your prestige should be 2, not 1...

Other question, who's the best player on your team so far ?

Mine's my starting TE Sam Grado, a senior scoring a 10.

in the rules, part two, they explain that you initially get 20 BRPs per level of prestige of your school. Your current number of BRPs is presented on your school page, right under the location.

Mine says 40, so I'm a prestige 2 school. So does your BRP level, and dMB's too, so he's also a level 2 prestige school...

Mine's my starting TE Sam Grado, a senior scoring a 10.

My best player is also a TE, junior scoring a 9. After that, it's pretty crappy, as I have a 8 DL, a 7 WR, and a 7 OL. Not much to talk about...

Your prestige definatly changes, you think I would make the worst team in the league and want to stay there?

So you are the dude in Rhode Island... Good to know.

About the prestige thing, I think I read somewhere that you can change class depending on your team's performance and current prestige class. Something like it tougher to stay at the top...
