Question Help me with my gameplan?

Usually I have not been messing around with defensive, offensive, towards middle, etc.

But I figure if I ever want to get better I'll need to start. So here goes my idea. (it'll probably suck, just help me out)

The team I played put up these numbers last week:

JUVENTUS UTTERBERG
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: passable
Central Defence: solid
Left Side Defence: excellent
Right Side Attack: passable
Central Attack: passable
Left Side Attack: inadequate

While playing a 4-4-2

They set up with these stars and special orders:

*------------**-----------*`----------**`(Defensive)

**------------**(Offensive)------**`(Offens)-------**
--------------------**--------------**

That may be a little confusing sorry if it is.

Then my ratings last week:

Spring Grove Fighting Eagles
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: passable
Central Defence: passable
Left Side Defence: solid
Right Side Attack: solid
Central Attack: solid
Left Side Attack: passable

And my stars (I didnt use any special orders besides extra inner mid)

***--------**`(Extra Inner mid)------***-----**

**-------**`---------**`---------**

**`---------***

The ` means half a star.

Now he uses the same strategy every week, and this is how I hope to approach him this week:

Right back: Offensive (He has passable playmaking)

Central Defender: Offensive (passable playmaking)

Right Winger: Offensive (passable scoring)

Inner Mid 1: Offensive (weak scoring)

How does that look?

For the record my left back is wretched in playmaking, solid in defending. My other inner mids are poor in scoring.

My wingers are both passable winger/weak playmaking, one has passable scoring, the other has weak.

Re: Help me with my gameplan?

WB's offensive do utilize a little PM, but their Winger is more valuable while their Defending takes a hit.

Scoring don't mean squat to a Winger (regardless of order). Offensive boost Winger, weakens defending.

Scoring don't mean squat to inner-midfielders either. Offensive boost passing and weakens defending.

I'd recommend ALWAYS playing your wingers Offensive, unless you really need MF help, then play TM.

If you set you right WB to offensive, I'd say you can expect an inad right D rating (from passable) probably same for CD offensive but you'll get some MF boost (don't know if it's a full level). I wouldn't play my only CD offensive though.

You want your left side with the strongest attack vs. his passable
right D.

all you really need to do is have MF advantage or be even, and I think
you'll win. You've got the better ratings.

Right Winger: Offensive (passable scoring)

Inner Mid 1: Offensive (weak scoring)
-----------------------------------------------------------

I may be wrong but I always thought that scoring didn't matter at all for anyone but forwards; and that passing was the stat that helped if playing a player offensive...

Yeah, you have that right doug. Passing is the stat that matters when they play offensive.

Good idea with playing the Central Defender offensively. That should boost your midfield and central attack. He better have decent PM and Stamina. Some passing skill could also help but I am not sure.
