CM4 Q: Contracts?

Guys I am new to the CM scene and CM4 is my first time with the series. I play as York City in the English Third Division and when I go to look at my reserves roster, I find a lot of players who are not under contract with my club. They have a "contract is not protected" tag on the main info page, but I cannot see where I can offer them a new contract. I know that this is always the case for players on youth contracts, but why can I not sign the 21 and 22 year olds on my reserve roster? Sorry if this is a really dumb question but I'm new to the series.

They are filler players, and cannot be signed. They are like from the local pub you get to fill in at times.

Instead of anotehr thread I'll just save Marc V or anyone else who knows some time. If I were to start a game with an Italian team with the Italy league on full detail. Then I found a different job in the US would the game run the US and Italy on full detail, or will the game just turn off the Italian league on full detail?

Both leagues would then be on full detail, you would have to turn Italy off full detail yourself.

I don't believe you can turn leagues on/off full detail once you start.

I'm curious as to why that was left out? Is close to a gamestopper. Game is already slow enough on my comp with one league on full detail, don't even wanna imagine two.

No, in CM4 the league you currently are employed in would run on full detail, the rest on less detail, that change occurs automatically as you switch jobs.

If you move from a full detail league to another full detail league both will remain in full detail.

If you move from a full detail league to a non-full detail league then the full detail league will shift to non-full detail and the non-full detail league will switch to full detail.

(hope that made sense?)
