Need Some Tips

Well this Sunday I'll be playing the 2nd placed team in my series at home. I'm in 1st but I think this could still be a challenging game. He runs a 4-4-2 so I was thinking I will go with a 3-5-2 with wingers offensive and wingbacks defensive. Do you think this is the best tactic to do, or should I consider something else?

Here's my last rating (using just a 3-5-2 with everyone normal)

McGees
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: weak
Right Side Defence: excellent
Central Defence: solid
Left Side Defence: solid
Right Side Attack: inadequate
Central Attack: inadequate
Left Side Attack: passable

Here's the other team's ratings from his last game (using a 4-4-2 with a forward set as defensive)

Ilhavos
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: excellent
Left Side Defence: solid
Right Side Attack: inadequate
Central Attack: weak
Left Side Attack: inadequate

With the 3-5-2, I am a big fan of playing 4 midfielders offensive and the two wingbacks defensive. Even if I don't play all midfielders offensive, I set both wingers to offensive. My wingbacks tend to have better defending than winger skill so playing them defensive allows them to focus more on their strongest ability.

Does putting the wingers as offensive take away from the midfield rating?

Everything that I've read says it doesn't take away from the midfield rating. It only takes away from the contribution to the defense. I haven't seen anything in my match results that would make me believe otherwise.
