I'm With Stupid #44
Questions for IWS #44
1. Name a person who has won more than one Academy Award. 2. Name a foreign country that people travel to for vacation. 3. What team will win this year's World Series? 4. Name a type of coffee drink that you can purchase at a fancy coffee shop. 5. Name a section in a newspaper. 6. What is your least favorite sports text sim game? Winners' List Of Honour Ahbrady - IWS#15, IWS#41 Airhog - IWS#1 Albionmoonlight - IWS#30 Archer219 - IWS#18 Ardent Enthausiast - IWS#6 Bbor - IWS#23, IWS#26 BishopMVP - IWS#36 Blade - IWS#13 Bryce - IWS#40 Bsak16 - IWS#6, IWS#9, IWS#17 Cuervo72 - IWS#27, IWS#38 Desert Dweller - IWS#6 Digamma - IWS#14 EagleFan - IWS#41 Hammer755 - IWS#38 HeavyReign - IWS#23 Henry296 - IWS#12 HornedFrogPurple - IWS#10 Joe Canadian - IWS#29 John Lynch - IWS#10 Maple Leafs - IWS#34 Marmel - IWS#8 Masked - IWS#22, IWS#30, IWS#31, IWS#33 Msf518 - IWS#11, IWS#15, IWS#35, IWS#39 Neuqua - IWS#19 Nothingman - IWS#6 Panerd - IWS#3 Pjstp20 - IWS#42 Primelord - IWS#11 QuikSand - IWS#9, IWS#16, IWS#18, IWS#24, IWS#32 Qwikshot - IWS#5 RendeR - IWS#6 RobbieDobbs - IWS#37 RPI-Fan - IWS#9 Samdari - IWS#21 ScottVib - IWS#9 SplitPersonality1 - IWS#4 Sterlingice - IWS#28, IWS#31, IWS#35 Sublime - IWS#25 Swaggs - IWS#2, IWS#35 Tredwel - IWS#6, IWS#9, IWS#20, IWS#43 TRO - IWS#7, IWS#9, IWS#12 Vince - IWS#37 The Rules These are the copy and pasted rules from the very first The FOFC “I’m With Stupid” Contest, written by QuikSand. The object of this contest is to answer the questions posted below, and to provide the most common answer among those submitted. For each question, your score will be equal to the number of people who submitted that response. Your score for the contest will be the product of your individual question scores. Highest score wins. There aren’t many rules or clarifications necessary, but here are those I can think of: No collaborating in any way. No posting your answers to this board, nor sharing them by email or in any other way with other potential contestants. All determinations of “matches” and anything else requiring judgment fall to that of the sole administrator of this puzzle, TredWel. You can reduce the need for doubt and judgment by properly spelling your submissions, being clear, that sort of thing. Any references that are unclear to you, due to language or geography, should be understood to be authored from the perspective of an English-speaking American. However... Your answers do not necessarily have to be correct in order to score points. If I ask “name a color of the rainbow,” and you and four other people responded “black” - you get five points, period, even if it is not technically a correct answer to the question. Submit your answers by Private Message to TredWel before Monday 23:59 Eastern Time.

To me, this thread qualifies... |

sent. I got screwed by the Dutch question last time. (I was a perfect 5 for 5 until that one) I have a feeling the world series one is going to screw me this time.

1. Name a person who has won more than one Academy Award.
Everybody's favorite Bosom Buddy, Tom Hanks, received twice as many nods as Jack Nicholson. Two people also said Russell Crowe, who has only won once so far, despite being nominated three times. Tom Hanks - 16 Jack Nicholson - 8 Russell Crowe - 2 Robert De Niro - 2 Katharine Hepburn - 2 Tom Cruise - 1 James Cameron - 1 2. Name a foreign country that people travel to for vacation. Interesting results, as the plurality of people want to head south of the border for a trip. Mexico beats out any European country. Yes, even Paris, which two people agreed upon. Mexico - 10 France - 7 England - 4 Italy - 2 Bahamas - 2 Paris - 2 Jamaica - 1 Tahiti - 1 Aruba - 1 The Netherlands - 1 Spain - 1 3. What team will win this year's World Series? Many, many people have selected the Evil Empire as the favorites to win the World Series for the 12,653rd time in franchise history. New York Yankees - 22 Seattle Mariners - 2 St. Louis Cardinals - 2 Chicago Cubs - 2 Boston Red Sox - 1 Oakland A's - 1 Atlanta Braves - 1 Philadelphia Phillies - 1 4. Name a type of coffee drink that you can purchase at a fancy coffee shop. The consensus choice for overly-caffeinated drinks seems to be the Cappuccino. Cappuccino - 15 Latte - 8 Espresso - 5 Mocha - 2 Coffee Coolata - 1 Frappuccino - 1 5. Name a section in a newspaper. I'm worried by you people. All 32 entrants submitted the same answer, probably setting some sort of IWS record in the process. You're more morbid than I thought you were. Obituaries - 32 6. What is your least favorite sports text sim game? The game that first got me interested in this genre turns out to be the least liked of all of the text sims out there. Baseball Mogul - 9 FOF4 - 5 TDCB - 5 Total Control Football - 2 Championship Manager - 2 OOTP - 2 Hattrick - 2 DMB - 1 Hoop Dreams Basketball - 1 EWR - 1 Football Mogul - 1 Jump Shot Basketball - 1 And we have a new entrant into the IWS List of Honor. Congrats to JeeberD with a perfect score!
P.S. Okay, I'm just kidding on question 5. Everybody said "Sports", which is a boring, predictable, and generally unfunny answer when compared to "Obituaries".

13th out of 32. Not bad, although I would consider the "Paris" answer as belonging to the "France" answer. Technically, Paris is not a country, but it's a "I'm with Stupid" contest.

Well, I'm certainly happy to have finally won, but I feel like it's kinda tainted. It looks to me that there has to be something wrong with your fifth question, because I highly doubt that everyone answered "obituaries". As a matter of fact, I'm certain that everyone didn't answer that, since I actually answered "Sports" (I just went and checked my outgoing PM's to make sure).
I don't know if you want to go back and try to correct this, or if you just want to let it slide, but I couldn't accept this honor without saying something. Having a guilty conscious sucks ass... And after having said that... WooHoo!!! It's about damn time! ![]()

19th...
Sure, it isn't last place, but it does mean my top half streak is over, after just two good finishes. I knew I should have gone with Mexico and not with my own country... I guess the Championship Manager haters don't play IWS... Baseball Mogul? I never thought of Hanks, meaning the best I could have gone would be 2nd. Quote:

If I ever become important or conceited enough to need a biographer, I want you to have the job. You are starting to give IWS more personality than some of the dynasties in the dynasty section. Good job. |

LOL! Heheh... no, I didn't read at the bottom, thanks. Nice trick. ![]() Reminds me of when the school teacher would give you that test where she says, "Read the entire test first, then start answering questions". I did the whole test and at the bottom it reads, "DO NOT DO THIS TEST" or something like that. Todd |
