Talking What I just heard from the other room...

I'm working at home today, and SWMBO is here for lunch. I just heard the following from the other room.

{Grunt} Get in there!

{Grunt} Don't fall out!

{More Grunts} I got it!!!

So, I'm wondering what in the world she's doing, of couse. Well, just as I was about to get up to investigate, she walks into the room I'm in: "Honey, I wouldn't suggest opening the closet in the guest room."

So.....my question is this: do we NEVER get to use that closet again, or do we just wait until whatever she stuffed in there eventually breaks down and decomposes????

Ahhh...married life.

No, no, you invite a much hated inlaw or relative or just plain someone you don't like to spend a few days at your house. Then you wait for hilarity to ensue.

Aha! This just hit me! We're having people over tonight!!! She was "cleaning up." LOL.

Incidentally, she's gone back to work now. The "don't open the closet" quote was the last thing she said to me before. "I love you. Bye."

for those of us who live in the gutter, a different conclusion would have been more fulfilling.

Definitely. I think it's a challenge to your manhood.

As I said, we're having people over tonight (granted, it is only a bunch of high school girls). If I open it and everything falls out, I'll be in big trouble. Remember, she must be obeyed.

Of course, opening sounds like a LOT more interesting than what I'm doing: calling a bunch of bus companies for price quotes for a trip this fall....

Oh well. I opened it verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwlllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyy. I ended up having to hold the boxes and other junk in that WILL fall out if we ever open it all the way. AS I guessed, she was "cleaning up". Several boxes that had been in the dining room are no longer there.

Heh. Actually several of these chicks could whip Easy's tail I'd imagine. Three of 'em made Varsity Soccer as freshmen, and two are seriious gymnasts. Easy wouldn't stand a chance.

A cookout at the SkyDog Wonderland Ranch. Why do I picture SkyDog getting interviewed by Barbara Walters sometime in the future?

OK. They are here now. They're all in the kitchen, which is adjacent to the room the computer is in. I think EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM IS TALKING AT THE SAME TIME!!! I am NOT exaggerating, either. How does ANYONE know what anyone is saying???

And don't ask me why they are trying to break dance in the kitchen. Our kitchen isn't that big.

I question the sanity of anyone who can break dance well...or for that matter, anyone with the desire to break dance period.

Ahh women...the aliens we must have amongst us.

Ahhhh....the burgers are finally done! Jen was cooking more french fries than she'd ever cooked, so I put the burgers on indirect on the grill to slow them down. Woohoo! I can eat and get outta here.

NOTE: Now they're all talking and eating at the same time. This is quite amazing.

Well, that was interesting. I know all of them, but I've never been around them in an all-girl-except-me setting. It felt like I was a scientist observing an unknown species in its natural habitat. They definitely act a LOT sillier when there are no guys their age around.

Well, I'm done eating now. I need to change the strings on my guitar, then I'm headin' to Open Mic night.

Well, it's not a web cam, but it's a pretty decent play-by-play.

Have fun at the open mic... may your tip jar runneth over.

So wait, we can't post names of people who played for the Warriors, but SkyDog can give us a play-by-play of what teenage girls are doing in his kitchen?

It's just not fair...

Maybe it's just me, but a play-by-play of what teenage girls are doing in the kitchen is a lot more interesting than naming people who have olayed for the Warriors.

Cause the Warriors suck

I always thought Iowa had nothing but white, cornbread eatin', biscuit lovin' farmboys. I didn't know they had even HEARD of break dancing!

That is how it was, but last year Iowa got access to the internet. You can only imagine the chaos the ensued...

Hell, just wait until they get broadband in two or three years
