World Cup - Group Round II, Game 2

USA and their furious team spirit takes on Romania. Romania had an early chance but Sutherland blocked it.

Canada vs England both with incomprehisible 3-5-2s.

Sverige vs Deustchland (4-5-1)

Suomi vs Nederland

Nooooo!!!!

Romānia took the lead after 20 minutes with 0 - 1. Gabriel Gilca placed the ball out of reach for the home sides keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.

England scores, up 1 - 0 on Canada. I wonder if England MOTS this one. A loss would essentially eliminate them.

Sverige scores again up 2-0.

edit: Sverige scores again, up 3-0.

After Canada equalized the score, England scored again to make it 2-1

I think the U.S. is done. Their team spirit is furious while Canada's is delirous. The U.S. couldn't beat Romania and they have no chance against a much better Canada. England's team spirit is satisfied, so they did not MOTS Canada, and therefore should easily defeat Romania.

It does not appear that we PIC since the team spirit is still at furious.

I don't think we have a shot in hell of beating Canada, which was basically my take after MOTS'ing England. I'm gonna stick with my pick of a Sweden/Canada final.

The explosive growth in some of the other leagues (Argentina and the Netherlands come to mind) means that they will have a significant advantage with U-20 teams, and therefore with national teams, in the future, similar to Sweden. They seem to becoming, for lack of a better term, Sweden Juniors. Huge player bases means more youth pulls, means more 1st week excellent players, means better national teams in the future.

I doubt the US will get expanded anytime soon since the active users number is not that impressive. Look at Sweden and the Netherlands where they have 85-95% active users. The US has a active users percent of around 20%.

With bots controlling most of our teams which basically means we won't be getting many youth pulls.

Hopefully with the next FIFA World Cup coming up maybe the US can have another great performance and that could spark more interest.

Another problem with most of the people who sign up to play Hattrick is that they are not patient. Most like the instant payoff when playing games. With Hattrick's slow game pace most first time players lose interest really fast.

So thats why the French are laughing at us.

Peace Out!!

Also we should convince Sweeden that BillyMadison is the right guy for the job there. I could see it now...

Sweeden National Team Press Announcements:

After Election: Jeez guys, none of you guys could even spill a single word right in your messages to me. And what's with all the wierd symbls? Real words please, not any 'kewl' internet ones. And don't worry everythings under control, I just picked up another solid goalie in case our first one gets hurt. Plus we have a couple formidable defensemen, so they should be able to hold off the attacks while we give our excellent scorers a chance to put a couple in. Just stay with me guys, the 5-1-4 is gonna start working any day now, and then you'll all see how everyone is going to start copying me

"What are you doigm? We had a great group or players and now our national team could even beat a division 5 team?"

Response: Sure, I have a bad team now. No one at FOFC said I was doing annything wrong, they all told me what a great job I was doing. and the word is 'doing', dumbass

STILL UNDEFEATED!!!

"Still undefeated? You're 0-15-1. We even lost to Bosnia! Bosnia BillyMadison, Bosnia!"

Response: You guys all suck. If you could give me any good players I'd be able to win. This is all your fualt. I'm running this team bankrupt so I can get another national team.

"Billy, I don't think you can do that, and even if you could, wouldn't it be against the riles? Plus you spelt fault wrong."

Final Response: Ha-Ha, that's just a typo, but it's against the 'rules', not 'riles'. And its not like it's big time against the rules, I don't think the GMs would even notice what I'm doing, they'll just give me another national team.

STILL UNDEFEATED!!!

If you look at the ratings, we only got a magnificent midfield. I'm positive this can be attributed to the furious TS. I thought slashers would play his cards better than that.

I don't think TP6 is a disciple of the run -n- shoot.

Allright, I guess it could work if you make the run and shoot 2.0

What are the odds we can get you elected?

I got over 70 votes in the U20 election without FOFC suppor. DK got over 80 votes with more or less only FOFC support. And after 16 weeks there are even more FOFCers playing Hattrick. But you know there is always that chance wizards or billycu will run. ^^

Actually I've never really asked what the run and shoot involves. Would anybody care to explain it to a newbie like me?

Others could probably explain it better, being I try to run a strong defensive games. I believe the formation used in the run and shoot is a 2-5-3, but I'm not sure and don't know a whole lot about the tactics involved.

All I really know is that it can net quite a few goals when used properly and Coffee used it to win his series/promote.

FOFC HT Dictionary: Run and Shoot

Pioneered by the great Ardent Enthusiast, the Run and Shoot is a playing style involving ordering your players to play...offensive. Wingbacks? Offensive. Wingers? Offensive. Midfielders? Offensive. Run with great success with Elder Ardent Enthusiast, Master Coffee Warlord, and Disciple Sterlingice, the Run and Shoot disdains terms like 'defense' and 'pulling back', instead attempting to score as many goals as humanly possible.

[obligatory knock on DK]

For real world example, see the Screamin' Seamen, and do the exact opposite.

Using the 2-5-3 would be an extreme Run N' Shoot variation (I might employ the 2-5-3 minus the run n' shoot later this season.) The basic Run N' Shoot was first used here by Ardent Enthusiast I believe, and it involves setting almost every middie and defender to offensive. It can result in great offensive ratings, but obviously defense suffers. If you have a great GK but only 1 or 2 good Defenders, you should consider it.

Nope, I'm not running. And it's doubtful I ever will. As I've said in past, I don't think it would be fun to me. Running a small country team/U-20 might be. But unless I speak the language, that won't happen either (based on getting 1 vote in Thailand and losing badly in Israel in previous attempts). So I'm content running my team

I wouldn't mind running for one of the U-20 teams, however, I don't talk a lot on the conferences and such.

FOFC and one other Fed I am in, is about all I talk on about Hattrick.

So not all the community knows me.
