My dilemma; your opinions
First let's set up the parameters:
I train playmaking. I just got promoted to a rather tough D4 league where only 1 team is worse than mine (and only slightly) on paper. 2 weeks stamina training this offseason. I wanted to incorporate my A team wingers into my PM training (I already do with one of them) in order to better compete in the midfield. I typically get inad midfields, while the best 2 teams get excellent and a 3rd around solid (the worse is typically weak). Right now I have a 27 (soon to be 28) YO winger who simply is too old to PM train, IMHO: Bernard Leblanc (8011356) 27 years, solid form, healthy A nasty fellow who is calm and honest. Has inadequate experience and passable leadership abilities. (I have a semi-clown so he is NOT the team leader) Stamina: excellent Goaltending: disastrous Playmaking: weak Passing: passable Winger: solid Defending: weak Scoring: weak Set Pieces: disastrous My thought was to sell him and replace him with my week 12 youth pull and train him in PM: George Velasquez (13063734) 18 years, passable form, healthy A nasty fellow who is calm and upright. Has disastrous experience and inadequate leadership abilities. Stamina: weak Goaltending: disastrous Playmaking: inadequate Passing: passable Winger: solid Defending: poor Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: poor The weak stamina is a minus, but 2 weeks stamina training this offseason should alleviate that. But, with the changes for next season, I think Bernie may actually play better with his superior experience. The other half of the equation is that my best PM inner middie is getting old but he's only 4-5 weeks short of formidable playmaking: Stephen Castellanos (8011359) 25 years, solid form, healthy A controversial person who is tranquil and honest. Has wretched experience and inadequate leadership abilities. Stamina: excellent Goaltending: wretched Playmaking: excellent Passing: weak Winger: disastrous Defending: weak Scoring: wretched Set Pieces: solid I guess my plan right now is to sell Bernie now (he ain't getting any younger) and then sell Steve when he pops to formidable (by then 2 of my best trainees will be excellent PMers). I obviously need to make some moves as having 2 old guys in my training spots is hampering my team's development long term. What do you guys think is the best long term move? Sell Bernie, move George up to the A team, hurting my overall team experience? Hold onto Bernie and make George a B team trainee, but bite the bullet on Bernie's spot it the lineup not going to a trainee? Sell George now (I'm sure a few winger trainers would love his passable passing and inad PM)? Sell Steve now (take a significant midfield hit now for better returns later)? Later (he'd be worth a lot more with formidable PM)?

I'd see how many stars Bernard with Inad experience pulls before selling him.
