Are you playing starters tonight?

Just wondering if it would be a wise move to play my starting lineup in tonights friendly? I booked a game vs the 1st place team in my series and was thinking about playing my starters just to see how a fare againt him. I am a little concerned about injuries though. what is everyone else doing?

Hell yes playing my starters. Training stamina in the off-season, so I'll play my starters every week in the vain attempt to stave off massie form hits.

Yep, starters in. Trying to keeper form up. Also, the NACC is tonight and I couldn't live with the embarrassment of losing to my northern opponent

Playing backups. It's quite nice having a qualifier to get that extra week of training.

Played a couple starters, but surpringsly got my first ever 3 star performance from one of them (no one on my team had ever done so before)! (A 31yo striker with passable/inadequete forward ratings, though in excellent form).

I am playing backups since I had a qualifier, but I did make sure to insert my two most experienced players, to see how they did.

If you didn't have a qualifier, definately play starters so they don't take a huge form hit.

I already played 1/2 of my starters and fortunately no one got hurt. Next week's Cup game is a definite since I need to train 3 guys to hopefully get a double bump next season, or at least get them to pop for sale sooner.

Hopefully the first round bot team I play (I'm hoping) will be nice and not take anyone out as I PIC.

How do you get involved in the Cup? Is it automatic?

Well, the official cup in the game is automatic. A certain number of teams in each league are invited- unless you are in low Div VI, you'll get to go.

To avoid confusion:
For something like FOFC Cup, that's unofficial- well, that involves the message board here.

I *think* you automatically get in as a D5 team at the end of the season and need to finish in the top 6 positions in D6. Basically only the 7th and 8th spots in D6 miss out.

I could be wrong though, so wait until someone who has been around longer confirms/corrects this.

For the U.S (and other leagues with 6 or more divisions), all teams in division 1-5 play in the cup. In division 6, all teams that finished in 1-5th place last season, and half the 6th place teams play in the cup. 7th and 8th place teams and the other half of the 6th place teams are not invited.

I decided in the end to play my B-squad because they REALLY needed some experience. I guess I didn't think about the form drop to my A-squad, I wish I would have thought about that...

On an up note, though, my squad is up 2-0 in the first half (which rarely if ever happens to me in a friendly).

Got the 'A' team out tonight. I am a little concerned though that I am giving away all my stradegies before the start of the season.

We have 1-0 half lead against out Finnish counterparts. They had a year similar to us, and promoted to D.IV too. Although they have been around a full season longer.

Well 22 minutes into the 2nd half I'm up 3-0 but the only updates I've gotten in the 2nd half are as follows:

During the break moogi´s coach went through the teams new tactics yet again. moogi appeared unsure on how to play.

BORING! I really hate boring halves.

Havok was playing some of his top players I think, and for some reason my players decided to break three of his mids.

Has the experiance thing been implemeted yet? It couldn't have been, I put up some of my highest non MOTS ratings tonight. Had 6 guys put up 3*, will have 7 when one of my forwards gets his form out of the crapper.

I had just a wonderfull freak occurance. I was training stamina, and had all my starters playing, all be it in odd positions. At any rate, my star keeper got hurt, and his backup finished off the game. Uh oh, I train keepers, he's a stud...uh oh.

Lucky me though! He's only injured but training! I get another week of GK training

for the same reason as mostly everyone else, I played my "A" team, winning 4-1 over Coffee Warlord's "B" team

Got a 56 NSI, with 29.5 stars 4 stars more than my best ever. I know stars are evil, but still. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, TS is irritated so got only a weak midfield...
