I'm playing a bot team in round one... the Puerto Rico Gladiators.
Well... at least I know I'll win ONE cup match. ![]() |

Ditto. My opponent puts up about 20-24 NSI and a wretched midfield. I think I can do well this season with 3 PICable games in the 1st 2 weeks before I play my biggest threat in week 3.

I play a team that puts up a disastrous midfield. This is GREAT, meaning even my B-squad should be able to win.

We have a bot team as well, Miami Huns (226081).
They finished fifth in their division and actually survived to round 2 last year. PIC #1

I forgot completely about the no league match in the first week, thanks so much for the reminder!!!! My A-squad will definitely play (and 90% likely win) the first cup game. Does PIC/MOTS have affect (effect?) in Cup games, or are they like friendlies? ~terpk

Yes! PIC bots teams in the cup! It's a great way to get your team spirit up. If you PIC your first two cup matches and your first league game you can get TS up to POE. So I always PIC my first league game regardless of the opponent.

I asked this earlier, and therefore know the answer for you... (by the way... my Dad is a U-MD alum, and I grew up near College Park - go Terps!)... Anyhow... MOTS/PIC is in full force for Cup games. |

Bot team, I should be able to lead off the season with 2, maybe 3 PICs, then MOTS a big early road match in the series.

Eh I don't MOTS while I'm in the cup. Once I get my TS up that high I get MOTS-like (actually better than MOTS) effects for every game I play. So MOTSing to win one game would hurt my plan in the long run. I suppose its a bit different for you though since you probably won't make it as far in the cup (PICing in the cup is what keeps my TS up). But actually you could probably PIC your league matches have you are out of the cup. PIC with TS that high would be better than playing normal with normal TS.

I have a bot team in the cup, which will be a PIC, and then I play a team I tied that ended 2nd in my series last season. And then I play the number one team in the series.
This is going to hurt. Considering, I went to youth for training before 6.5 was announced.

![]() I hope they're all scared shitless after the 10-0 drubbing I gave one of them in the last game of the season ![]() FM

Yeah, I figure to be out of the cup by the 3rd round at the latest. The second game of the season is a road game against one of the two teams I will be competing against for the #3 spot in the series, which is my goal. If I win there, they are likely out of that race. Very important game for us.
On a side note, all 3 of my series bot teams got human owners tonight. I will have to keep a close eye on their login/transfer activity. |

That is the automatic reason, as most everybody has understood by now, but there's also another reason: this is kind of the "freebie" cup match in terms of experience. This is probably the only game that most of us, teams in the lower divisions, will have to play all of our starters in. With the importance now placed on experience, this is something that should never be forgotten... After that first cup game, we will all start playing league games, and unless you play in an all-bot league (or play your starters in bth league AND cup), you will not be able to play all your starters in one cup match... I plan on playing starters in the cup game as well, with the exception of my scoring trainees.

Starters for me.
It sucks having to train my keeper up, and not being able to touch the rest of my squad, but I need to get my keeper to passable at least. The minute that happens. I will be back to normal Forward training.

Just go buy a passable GK. You can find one for 70,000-80,000. The 3-4 weeks training you will need to do to get both yours up to passable are worth less than the forward training you can do in that time. Besides, having a low passable versus a high inadequate only makes a big difference when selling them. |

Don't have the cash to buy one right now.
I have around 7 or 8 guys on the market, if I sell them, I might buy a passable keeper. My one inad is sitting at 115K right now, Is he middle inad? or high inad? Just trying to gauge it. My youth squad should pop to passable, so when it does, I will pray for the good, positive youth pull for keeper.

I'd say don't buy one. Keep pulling keepers until you get one. Your 115k inad keeper isn't very close to popping IMO. Anyway, that's what I did. I had a 140k inad keeper for about 4-5 weeks, until I finally pulled a low passable. I kept pulling keepers, got another passable a bit higher, so i sold the first one. After 11 keeper pulls, I finally got a 340k solid keeper. Took a bit of time, but in the process, I sold off 2 passable, 1 middle inadequate, two high inadequate... Remember that your keeper that just popped to passable isn't that much better than a very high inadeaquate who is already pulling 2 stars... FM

Who cares about keepers? It's all about the scoring

Well, I can win a shootout with most of the teams in my series, as I have one of the better MF's, it's the keeping, I want to keep their shots from coming in.
