National Coach: FOF Backing
Well....its seems that the new nominees are already announcing themselves, and it seems to me the smart decision would be to back TargetParactice6. He seems like a great coach to me, nice guy, and to already have enough backers where if we help we could push him over the top. Any thoughts on what FOF should do. I think we proved by putting Dataking at #2 for U-20 that we are a formidible group of voters. How should we play out this election?

I'm down to vote TP6...he knows what he's doing.

(This is all assuming the TP6 becomes the "FOFC-endorsed candidate)
From an unbiased view, what FOFC should do is...not much. One of the "problems" DK had the last election was that a bunch of people "no one had heard of" starting singing his praises about how he helped them and such. And I think this led to some backlash, with the mindset of "who's this and who are all of his lackeys? I've never seen them before". DK got the FOFC bloc vote. But obviously he needed a bit of other votes, and that was really hard to come by (due to lack of "name value", experience, series, and so forth). I honestly don't remember who I voted for (I *think* was TP6; I KNOW it WASN'T Idigum...think a GM has enough to do...), but DK was certainly a possibility. Despite my bias/preference for "nat. coach is an honor that should be bestowed on a more experienced manager", I was impressed by DK's demeanor and knowledge. Unfortunately, he couldn't get over the hump. The problems that DK had, TP6 shouldn't have. He's played longer, is in a high series, is known in the conferences and so forth. He'll get a decent size of the "regular vote", along with the FOFC bloc. But if there's dozens of posts on the HT conference from "random IV and V owners that no one's heard of", there could be backlash. And I'm not saying that in a holier than thou mindset. So the best thing that can be done is to make sure that everyone votes. And if it's going to be a bloc effort, make sure everyone's united in it and that "there's a good voter turnout". Obviously, that made a nice difference in the last election (where I was honestly quite surprised DK got so many votes; didn't know there was such a united bloc, as there was here. Recall, this was before I came back to FOFC...) The only other thing that comes to mind is to try to somehow prevent "a certain loudmouth" from jumping on TP6's bandwagon. There's one or two people in the HT conferences (I think TP6 and maybe some others know who they are) who are...annoying (less so now than in the past). Having them actively supporting/sucking up/praising a candidate led to backlash in the past (on a personal level, I know it annoyed me enough to not vote for a candidate in the past). I guess FOFC can't do anything about this, so this is more a "general election comment" than an FOFC related one. What else FOFC CAN do is to recruit people to join HT (from FOFC and assorted places), which could lead to additional votes. Otherwise, I don't think any concentrated public effort on the US Confs is really a benefit. That's just my 2 cents... |

I think you voted for me, atleast that's what you told me.
![]() Yeah, and that "certain louhmouth" has already voice support for slashers. So I have nothing to worry about. Honestly guys, I would be honored to receive your votes. I really have some good plans for the national team (which I will detail later). |

I'm confident I could with the current team against the current opposition (Sweden is a bit iffy though). I say current because I don't know how talented other teams will be by the next world cup. But I'd still say we could beat the vast majority of teams in two seasons.
However, my plans don't include beating every country in a friendly if that's what you mean. One of my plans is to PIC most every friendly to get TS up for the World Cup. Also, I would like to fall just out of the top 8 in the world rankings. Canada and England both had to play qualification matches to get into group play (against lesser teams). Which allowed them to atleast PIC one game and keep TS up. We had to wait three weeks between matches. So, I hope that answers your question. Sounds like a good enough plan, but no run and shooting?

Dola: Also, I hope there's not a backlash if TP6 is elected and we try and push DK to the U-20 spot and someone goes and creates an anti-FOFC voting bloc against DK to prevent us from running the national scene.

I'll go for TP6, but I'd still like to see DK or someone else in FOF for U-20. (I'll be back in November, with no more sea time

Searching around trying to find the active Ukraina teams, I found their division that all 7 of them are in. What does this mean:
FC Metallist Kharkov (AK Team) (268309) AK Team? Do they run onto the fields with AK's?

TP's got my vote
![]() and im also against the Run and shoot. USA has probally the number 2 or 3 defense in the world. It would be kind of a waste not to use it to our advantage.

Well, he lost my vote (j/k) ![]() That question on this boards is like abortion in a national election: it polarizes voters and there is no "right" answer for a canidate. Fortunately, unlike national elections, some of us are smart enough to not single-issue vote. SI

Voting will be open for a week shortly have the current World Cup ends. To vote you will need to go to the USA page and find the Elections link under where it says who the current national coaches are. From there you can enter a user name you wish to vote for, or select one of the top ten that are listed (if it has been over 1 day since the start of the election0.

I always vote for TP.
I'm planning on running the WC season after, with hopefully a full year of U20 SK experience.

"Who was there when you had a runny nose but were out of Kleenex(tm)?
TP was there. Who did you turn to when you needed to trash a friend's house in a playful and not-exactly-damaging-but-still-highly-visible way? You turned to TP. Who cleaned your ass the last time you had explosive diarrhea? TP cleaned your ass, that's who. So when you vote for Team USA's national coach, please keep in mind all of the generous things TP has done for you. Thank you." |

I don't know, the space we get to make our speeches is pretty small. Maybe I could just leave a link
