Walkover or not or what?
Ok, this team in my series, IV.10, there is a team that has been inactive since late-March or so. They finished #3 in the series last season and look to be contenders again, even though they don't have an owner. This could be because of him having a million dollar player or two.
My question is, will they become a walkover or what? |

Only if they dont field enough players, otherwise until a new owner is installed, I am pretty sure his team plays.

But see, his team won't be replaced because this is Div. IV, and he will definitely finish top 4.

He'll be replaced. Doesn't matter what division your in. If you dont log in for 5 weeks, your gone.

He's gone, but his team isn't.

And after 5 weeks, his team will have a new owner with a new team that will have the crappy players plus a few ok players like everyone else when they started out.

nope, it's not how it works. Only teams in the bottom two levels can be replaced by new owners. If the current owner drops out, the team will become an ownerless team, but the computer doesn't take it over, and it doesn't get a new owner. I think lytic and RavenHawk had a team like that in their IV league... FM

"Only teams playing in the two lowest divisions get new owners during the season. If a team playing higher up in the series system gets abandoned, they will fall through the series system until they reach a level where a new owner can take over."
Only took me 3 tries, but I found it. Too bad it means I'm wrong. :o Woulda been right 2 seasons ago. ![]()

Yeah, only reason why I remembered it was because I have a good memory and I remembered lytic and RavenHawk getting W/O in their ratings... I also was a hockey and soccer referee for 8 years, so I'm used to reading and remembering rules ![]() FM

It's going to be so much fun to finish 8th with an ownerless team in my division. Of course, finishing 7th ain't exactly peaches and cream.

Inactive teams above V are converted to walkovers in weeks 1, 8, and 15, IIRC. This will push them to the bottom of the league table, they'll eventually drop to V, and then they can be replaced.
