Dynasty Overview

The purpose of the Nebraska Blizzards Dynasty is to tell a compelling and intriguing story using FOF2 as the backdrop.

The Story So Far (Updated 7/21/03!!!)

It all began in January 2000. That year, Anthony Coriolanus, President and CEO of AgroGlobal Corporation, and a man known only as "The Executioner" agreed to a join forces in a business venture expected to generate billions of dollars. Using Coriolanus’ connections with the National Football League Commissioner’s Office, the two men set out to purchase an expansion franchise to generate large amounts of cash separate and apart from their own personal income. Then, using Executioner’s connections to the infamous Mexican Zopepe Drug Cartel, the money made by the team would be invested into drug trafficking to generate incredible profits. Since they decided that the team’s name would be the Nebraska Blizzards, it seemed appropriate that their criminal venture should be code-named Operation Snow Blind.

Their plan began with Coriolanus bribing NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue and other league executives to obtain enough votes to win the bid for an expansion franchise in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Executioner, meanwhile, assassinated the most prominent competitors for the expansion franchise team, as well as those opposed to construction of the Blizzards’ stadium.

After Coriolanus was awarded the NFL's latest expansion franchise, he set out to hire the best General Manager in the league—Jack “Grid” Iron. Since Grid was under contract with the San Diego Chargers, Coriolanus framed Iron by paying a notorious bookie, Heather Diamond, to accuse the GM of gambling on NFL games. After Iron was fired by the Chargers due to the criminal charges, Coriolanus befriended him, and even paid for his lawyer throughout the ensuing jury trial. Iron was later acquitted after Diamond surprised prosecutors by testifying that she made up the accusations only to gain notoriety. Since Coriolanus had supported Grid Iron throughout the entire ordeal, Iron’s decision to be the Blizzards’ GM was an easy one.

After securing the franchise, stadium and general manager, Coriolanus and the Executioner began investing the team’s profits into the drug trade. Over several years, Coriolanus donated millions of dollars generated by the Blizzards to sham charities in South America and Mexico. These charities then laundered the money by transferring it to the cartel, where it was used to fund the drug smuggling operations. The drug profits were then deposited into several off-shore bank accounts, set up by the Executioner.

The enterprise was wildly successful, as both men made over one billion dollars within 10 years. Coriolanus was content to bask in the glory of his vast, new wealth. The Executioner, however, had different plans for his share of the profits.

Working with CIA Director Archie Bitzer, also known as “Silencer,” the Executioner used the money earned from the cartel’s drug activities to genetically engineer a virus that would kill anyone of Arab ancestry. In 2015, the virus was released into a small village in Saudi Arabia, and it spread quickly across the entire region, gaining its nickname, the “Arabian Flu.” By the end of 2016, it had reached every country in the Middle East and killed over 500,000 people. By 2017, the disease appeared for the first time in the United States when a businessman from Yemen died shortly after arriving in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 2018, the first case in the continental U.S. occurred when a Saudi immigrant, who had not been to the Middle East in several years, died in a Bronx, New York, hospital.

In 2019, Bitzer urged the Executioner to begin what is known only as “Phase 2,” which involved distributing a vaccine for the Arabian Flu. The Executioner refused, telling Bitzer that he could not provide him a vaccine because none existed - he had lied about it merely to secure Bitzer’s help. Wracked with guilt, Bitzer later took his own life. FBI Agent Alex Goldstein, however, discovered the Executioner’s plot while reviewing Bitzer’s computer files.

Also in 2019, the countries of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia began deploying large numbers of troops and missiles (suspected of carrying chemical weapons) to their borders with Israel, which they blamed for the disease. In response, Israel detonated a tactical nuclear device in an uninhabited area to deter any military attack by the Arabs.

The escalating violence in the Middle East convinced Goldstein to suggest to his superiors that the U.S. take responsibility for its role in creating the virus. The President of the United States ordered a cover-up of the incident. Goldstein, however, saved the computer records and planned to go public with the information.

Unfortunately, the National Security Agency caught wind of Goldstein’s plan and had him arrested to face charges of treason before a military tribunal. He is currently being held at a secret military base outside of the continental United States.

As for Coriolanus, he fled the U.S. in 2014 following an attempt on his life by one of the Executioner’s assassins and his indictment for drug trafficking. He re-appeared in 2016, however, in Germany. Holed up with a large cache of firearms in a small apartment in suburban Hamburg, Coriolanus told Interpol authorities that he killed his own wife and children mercifully because he feared that they would have suffered horrific and painful deaths if the Executioner got to them first. After several hours of negotiation, Coriolanus agreed to surrender and the authorities all about Operation Snow Blind. Unfortunately, as Coriolanus walked out of the apartment and towards the waiting police, he was shot and killed by an unknown assassin.

To date, the Arabian Flu has killed over three million people. Further, the Executioner’s purpose in creating the virus and releasing it upon the Middle East is currently unknown.

In addition, over the last decade several South Pacific villages, and all of their inhabitants, have been completely destroyed by missiles from Russian Mako helicopters. The Russian government has denied any involvement. The CIA believes that several Mako helicopters that vanished on a training mission in 2003 in Siberia were actually stolen by the squadron commander, Vladimir Maritczak, and his men. A worldwide search has begun for Maritczak, who was an outspoken Ukrainian and considered to be sympathetic toward the United States and NATO. Any connection between the Mako helicopters and Operation Snow Blind, if there is one, is unknown at this time.

On December 31, 2019, NORAD detected the launch of 35 missiles from various Arab nations directed at Israel. Shortly thereafter, Israel launched a counter-strike of 65 rockets, which satellites showed to be armed with nuclear warheads. The capitals of Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Syria are among the cities targeted.

In 2020, the world learned of the horrifying destruction across the Middle East from the Arab-Israeli missile attacks. Millions died and cities were left in ruin. The U.N. sent peacekeepers to the area to maintain stability, but they weren't enough. U.N. Secretary General Jean-Paul Petain was removed from office when the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Jamir Al Sabah, called for his impeachment after his father was killed by a suicide bomber. Al Sabah, the newly crowned King of Kuwait, was elected to replace Petain, and has vowed to increase the U.N.'s military presence in the Middle East to eradicate the many terrorist groups attempting to seize power in the shattered land.

Also in 2020, Grid Iron received a cryptic e-mail from someone purporting to be Anthony Coriolanus. Coriolanus was believed to have been killed by an assassin in 2016 before he could reveal the secret of Operation Snow Blind to the authorities.

In 2021, Grid Iron learned that the e-mail was really an automated message written by Coriolanus several years ago before his death. Coriolanus instructed Grid Iron to access the AgroGlobal computer system in Kuala Lumpur for information that would unveil a horrifying conspiracy. In Kuala Lumpur, Coriolanus left a message for Grid saying the information had to be copied to a keychain hard drive and that it would be slipped to him by a guest at Le Petit Zinc, a restaurant in Paris, on New Year's Eve 2022.

Also in 2021, Anthony Angelino gave up his stake in the Melbourne, Florida, Eagles to become the majority owner of the Nebraska Blizzards. The President of New York-based BuildCo Enterprises, Angelino announced shortly after buying the team that he would move it unless the public paid for a new $1 billion stadium.

At the close of 2021, King Jamir Al Sabah of Kuwait announced that doctors in his country discovered a cure for the Arabian Flu and would begin distributing it immediately.

In 2022, the U.S. government provided U.N. peacekeepers in the Middle East with 1,000 new F-35 Joint Strike Fighters, the most advanced military plane in the world. The planes were provided at the request of King Sabah, who pointed out the need to deter terrorist cells and rival governments from interfering with the rebuilding process.

Also in 2022, Grid Iron obtained the hard drive Anthony Coriolanus left for him in Paris. In it, Coriolanus included information from AgroGlobal's computer database which described a secret research facility in Paraguay. According to the disk, the place was created by the U.S. government to circumvent the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention of 1975 and was responsible for creating the Arabian Flu. The disk also stated that it was the CIA that released the virus in the Middle East. The facility is hidden in the jungle and has gone undetected by local law enforcement for decades. Coriolanus did, however, give Grid Iron the GPS coordinates.

In 2023, Lincoln Police Officer Michael Phillips obtained a wiretap authorization to monitor the phone calls of a local drug dealer, Chu Nguyen. During on intercepted phone conversation, Nguyen explains to an associate that a new dealer named "Vinny" has opened shop in town and is significantly cutting into his business. Nguyen explained, however, that there was little he could do about Vinny since it is believed he is associated with organized crime ("OC").

2023 concluded when Grid Iron traveled to Paraguay to find the AgroGlobal research facility that manufactured the Arabian Flu. After he arrived, however, several unidentfied helicopters showed up and began firing missiles at Grid and the research facility, destroying the entire place, as well as Grid Iron’s companions.

In 2024, we learned that Grid Iron survived the attack on the research facility and began the long arduous journey home, travelling across the mountain of Paraguay, into Peru, a long trip aboard a fishing boat from Peru to Mexico, and then a bus ride from San Diego to Lincoln. With him, Grid brought two password-protected laptop computers that he recovered from the AgroGlobal research facility debris.

Just as Grid’s life seemed to be returning to normal, however, tragedy struck again. His son was kidnapped on New Year’s Eve, after which Grid received an e-mail from Vladimir Maritczak stating that they each had something the other one wanted . . .

House Rules (Updated 3/5/03!)

I employ a fairly standard set of "house rules" (empty cupboard, no franchise tag, must maintain a 53-man roster, no renegotiating, can't make trade proposals, trades must pass "fairness test", no current NFL players, auto-sign rookies). During the 20-step free agent period, I may negotiate with any player who was on my team the previous season without restriction. As for free agents who did not play on my team the previous season, I may sign up to three of them during the 20-step process, but I may only bid on one player at a time and I cannot modify my original offer. After the 20-step free agency period, I can only sign undrafted rookie free agents and players who were on my roster the previous season. All contracts signed outside of the 20-step process must be for exactly what the player asks, or for one year. I have decided to allow renegotiating with “classy veterans" who have a loyalty of "high" or above.

2025 Preview

The Blizzards will be going for a fifth consecutive Super Bowl victory in 2025.

Ticket Prices

Despite winning a fourth consecutive Super Bowl, the Blizzards chose to keep ticket prices the same as last year. “We’re just giving a little back to the fans,” said team president Anthony Angelino, noting that the team turned in a $250 million profit in 2024. “We’re doing just fine.”

Scouts/Coaches

Grid Iron resumed his role as General Manager after being in South America for a year. Former Blizzards tight end and Assistant General Manager Leland Bronson, who filled in for Iron during his absence, is leaving the team to become the GM for the Atlanta Falcons.

Retirements

No Blizzards retired in 2025.

Trades

The Blizzards were not involved in any trades in 2025.

Free Agency

The Blizzards went into the free agency period $49.7 million under the $230.5 million salary cap.

Key Players Re-Signed

During the free agency period, Grid Iron focused on re-signing the team’s top two draft picks from 2014.

S Charles Mangum re-signed one year before free agency as a classy veteran to a $11.51 million three-year deal. Mangum was drafted in the first round (12th overall) in 2014 out of Portland State and has posted 53 interceptions in 11 seasons.
TE Courtney Donovan, the team’s three-time All-League tight end out of Rice, re-signed for $12.99 million over three years. Donovan was the team’s second-round pick in 2014.

Key Players Lost

DT Earl Page signed a $63.05 million contract for four years with the Melbourne Eagles after averaging 10 sacks per season over the last two years. A former first-round pick (24th overall) out of Wisconsin-Stout in 2017, Page signed with Nebraska as a free agent in 2021 after four seasons with the Bengals.
G Lamont Windsor signed a three-year $25.16 million contract to play for the Los Angeles Earthquakes. Windsor, Nebraska’s first round pick (22nd overall) in 2019 out of Arkansas, was named All-League First Team in 2020 and 2024.

Amateur Draft

Grid Iron used his first draft pick (36th overall) to replace DT Earl Page who left via free agency. Louisville DT Donovan Clayton, at 6’3” and 289 pounds, promises to fill the void quickly. “I was really surprised he was still on the board,” said Iron on draft day. “He has a very good chance of starting this season.”

The Blizzards went 4-0 in the Exhibition Season. Although rookie DT Clayton Donovan didn’t win the starting job outright, he will be part of a regular rotation. Explained head coach Damon Walsh: “He gives us a lot of flexibility to keep our entire line fresh throughout the game.”

Schedule

The Blizzards have an average schedule this year, playing only six games against teams that qualified for the playoffs in 2024. Nevertheless, the AFC West is always a challenging division, so no season is ever a cakewalk. In Week 4, Nebraska travels to New York in a re-match of last year’s AFC Conference Championship against the Jets.

I wish to obtain possession of the laptop computer you took from the AgroGlobal facility in Paraguay.

It contains highly sensitive information that, if it falls into the wrong hands, will pose an extreme threat to the national security of all free countries in the world. It is imperative that you give it to me. Once you do, your son will be returned.

Unfortunately, my job is such that I cannot make the exchange in the near future. In Week 9, when the Blizzards play at Miami, go to to the Loge Level, Section 32, Seat 23 at halftime. Under the seat will be further instructions.

I can understand your frustration, but be assured that your son is in safe hands.

Whatever you do, law enforcement must not be contacted. Your son is depending on you.

Week 1: Blizzards (0-0) vs. Chiefs (0-0)

Nebraska QB Moran Sweeney was named Offensive Player of the Week after completing 27 of 39 for 367 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in the Blizzards’ 35-20 victory over the Chiefs.

Week 2: Blizzards (1-0) at Broncos (1-0)

Nebraska S Charles Mangum was named Defensive Player of the Week after recording three interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, as the Blizzards cruised past the Broncos 38-12.

RB Jerome Sweeney is doubtful for next week game after suffering shoulder tendonitis.

Week 3: Blizzards (2-0) vs. Chargers (2-0)

Blizzards QB Moran Sweeney won Offensive Player of the Week honors again after completing 22 of 34 for 333 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions in Nebraska’s 49-3 victory over San Diego. Sweeney’s seven TD passes tied the NFL record set by the Jets’ Vinny Testaverde in 2000.

Week 4: Blizzards (3-0) vs. Jets (1-1)

Nebraska RB Donny Woodard, playing for the injured RB Jerome Sweeney, rushed 18 times for 122 yards and a touchdown as the Blizzards survived the Jets by a score of 28-24.

1/4 Season Review

At 4-0, Nebraska is alone in first place, one game ahead of Oakland (3-1) and two games ahead of Kansas City (2-2) and San Diego (2-2). The team also has the league’s highest Power Rating at 90.

Nebraska boasts several of the league’s statistical leaders through four games: QB Moran Sweeney with 16 touchdown passes and a 121.1 quarterback rating, WR Vince Clinton with 415 receiving yards, and TE Courtney Donovan with seven touchdown receptions.

Blizzards GM son still missing

October 1, 2025

Lincoln, Neb. (AP) - Every day Nebraska Blizzards GM Jack "Grid" Iron suffers the anguish of losing a child to an unknown abductor. "It eats me up inside," said Iron of his son, Jack Jr. "I just have to keep believing that he'll be home someday."

Jack Jr., 13 years old, was abducted from his home on New Year's Eve 2024. Since that time, despite a nationwide campaign to locate the boy, no credible leads have turned up. "No one's called for ransom, nothing," Iron said. "If there was something I could do to get him back, I'd do it . . . anything."

If anyone has information related to the abduction of Jack Iron, Jr., please contact your local law enforcement agency.

Week 5: OPEN

After a week off, everyone on the roster is back to full health except RB Jerome Sweeney, who will sit out one more week with shoulder tendonitis.

Week 6: Blizzards (4-0) vs. Redskins (2-2)

QB Moran Sweeney was intercepted twice and the Blizzards converted only twice out of 14 chances on third down as Miami beat Nebraska 27-24.

The contest marked the first time since the 2022 season that Nebraska lost more than one game in a season.

At 6-2, the Blizzards are tied with the Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) for first place in the AFC West. The Raiders (5-4) are just ½ game back.

Explosion rocks downtown Kansas City

Kansas City, MO (Reuters) - An explosion destroyed the Rooftop Restaurant in downtown KC yesterday, with the blast being heard for miles around. Fire officials do not yet know what caused the blast, which occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m., just two hours before the Chiefs game. Officials report that 20 people died, and over 50 are seriously injured.

One of the survivors was Jack "Grid" Iron, general manager of the Nebraska Blizzards. "It blew up just after I walked out," he said. "I'm very lucky."

Week 14: Blizzards (9-3) at Seahawks (3-9)

Seattle RB Kendrell Crider ripped the Blizzards for 167 yards rushing and a touchdown and the Seahawks defense sacked QB Moran Sweeney five times, handing the Blizzards a 29-19 loss.

Week 15: Blizzards (9-4) at Titans (2-11)

The Blizzards could manage only 194 total yards of offense and the lowly Titans scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to beat Nebraska by a final of 17-12.

Week 16: Blizzards (9-5) at Earthquakes (7-7)

Nebraska rediscovered its offense as QB Moran Sweeney was 24 of 38 for 369 yards, no interceptions and scored five touchdowns (four pass, 1 rush) in the Blizzards 48-7 victory.

Going into the final week of the season, Nebraska (10-5) is tied with Kansas City (10-5) for the division lead. Since Nebraska holds the tie-breaker based on head-to-head record, the Blizzards will clinch the AFC West with a victory or a Chiefs loss. The Chiefs, who are guaranteed a playoff berth, can clinch the division with a victory combined with a Nebraska loss.

Week 17: Blizzards (10-5) vs. Seahawks (5-10)

The Nebraska defense held Seattle to just 202 total yards (78 rush, 124 pass) and the Seahawks scored their only touchdown on a punt return as the Blizzards won their third consecutive AFC West title by a score of 10-7.

Full Season Review

At 11-5, the Blizzards ended the year with the second-best record in the AFC behind the Greenville Bobcats (12-4) to earn a first-round playoff bye.

The Blizzards’ success was due in large part to a phenomenal passing attack. QB Moran Sweeney led the league with 4,040 passing yards and 40 touchdown passes, and his 97.3 quarterback rating was second in the NFL. WR Vince Clinton led the league with 1,335 receiving yards and was tied for second with 10 touchdown receptions. TE Courtney Donovan was first in the NFL with 12 touchdown catches.

RB Jerome Sweeney had a horrible year, missing three games due to injury and rushing for just 577 yards and 8 touchdowns with a 2.7 average. That was a significant decline for Sweeney, who averaged 1,888 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns over the previous two seasons. Could Jerome finally be reaching the end of his career? Only time will tell. . .

On the defensive side of the ball, LB Kyle Schwartz led the team with 115 tackles, while S Charles Mangum was tied for second in the NFL with 9 interceptions.

Game 1: Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7) at Baltimore Ravens (10-6)

The Ravens recorded three interceptions and returned one for a touchdowns in a 31-6 victory over the Steelers.

Game 2: Carolina Panthers (9-7) at New Orleans Saints (10-6)

New Orleans QB Blaine Emerson was 17 of 25 for 236 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions as the Saints beat the Panthers 31-9.

Game 3: Green Bay Packers (9-7) at Melbourne Eagles (11-5)

LB Chris Clemons led the Eagles with 11 tackles (8 solo, 3 assist) and had an interception as Melbourne held on to beat Green Bay 10-9.

Game 4: Kansas City Chiefs (10-6) at New England Patriots (11-5)

Divisional Playoffs

In an effort to allow FOFCers to follow their favorite teams through the playoffs, I will be posting short summaries of each game.

Game 1: Melbourne Eagles (12-5) at Arizona Cardinals (13-3)

Arizona WR Terry Gordon caught six passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns, including a 71-yard score in the fourth quarter, as the Cardinals held on to beat the Eagles 28-21.

Game 2: New Orleans Saints (11-6) at Chicago Bears (13-3)

Chicago S Brian Manusky had seven tackles (6 solo, 1 assist) and two interceptions as the Bears cruised to a 31-7 victory.

Game 3: New England Patriots (12-5) at Greenville Bobcats (12-4)

The Bobcats’ league-best defense wasn’t enough to stop New England QB Edwin Clemons, who was 22 of 33 for 343 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions as the Patriots pulled off a major upset, beating the Bobcats by a score of 17-13. In the regular season, the Bobcats allowed just 11.3 points per game and had three shut outs.

Nebraska advances to fifth AFC Championship in row

Lincoln, Nebraska (Ticker) – QB Moran Sweeney was 23 of 30 for 332 yards and four touchdowns, and the Nebraska defense had four interceptions as the Blizzards stunned the Baltimore Ravens 62-17 to advance to the AFC Championship for the fifth consecutive year.

“Everything was working today,” said Moran, who threw just one interception on the day watched the entire fourth quarter from the sideline. “It was nice to get the rest so I’ll be ready for next week.”

Nebraska scored first on a nine-yard run by RB Jerome Sweeney off left guard and then converted two Baltimore interceptions into touchdowns to build a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Ravens pulled to within 24-10 in the second quarter, but an 18-yard touchdown pass from Moran Sweeney to TE Courtney Donovan with 2:06 left in the half gave Nebraska a 31-10 lead at the intermission.

In the third quarter, Moran Sweeney threw two more touchdowns to make the score 45-10. In the fourth, the Blizzards returned an interception and a fumble for touchdowns to put the home team up 62-10. The Ravens added a touchdown of their own with 16 seconds left in the game to finish the scoring.

Blizzards defense sends team to fifth consecutive Super Bowl

Lincoln, Neb. (Ticker) – Nebraska WR Vince Clinton caught eight passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Blizzards past the Patriots by a score of 27-9.

“We’re goin’ back to The Show!” said Clinton, who has four touchdown receptions in two playoff games so far this year. “We’re firing on all cylinders right now, and that’s bad news for Chicago,” Clinton said of the Blizzards’ opponent next week in the Super Bowl.

New England scored first on a 25-yard field goal in the second quarter, but Nebraska RB Jerome Sweeney ran five yards up the middle for a touchdown with 47 seconds left in the first half to give the home team a 7-3 lead at the intermission.

The Blizzards upped their lead to 14-3 on a 22-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter from QB Moran Sweeney to Vince Clinton, but the Pats responded with a touchdown drive of their own early in the fourth, making the score 14-9. The Nebraska defense buckled down, however, forcing a punt and stopping the Patriots twice on fourth down to seal the victory.

Blizzards win another Super Bowl OT thriller 31-28

December 28, 2025

Lincoln, NE (Ticker) – Nebraska KR Richard Franz returned a punt 70 yards to tie the game with 4:35 left on the clock and K Eugene Rhodes hit an 18-yard field goal on the Blizzards’ first possession in overtime to beat the Bears 31-28 and give the team a fifth consecutive NFL championship.

“I just found a seam and took it to the house,” said Franz, whose fumbled kickoff return with just over a minute to play in the second quarter led to a Chicago field goal. “I had to atone for coughing it up earlier in the game.”

The chances of Nebraska winning a fifth consecutive Super Bowl appeared bleak when the Bears held a 13-0 advantage at halftime and a 28-13 lead with just 6:46 left in regulation. The Blizzards, however, never gave up.

QB Moran Sweeney orchestrated a four-play, 80-yard drive that took just 1:02 to pull Nebraska within one score at 28-20. On the drive, WR Vince Clinton caught passes of 40 yards, 30 yards, and 15-yards, the last of which was a touchdown.

The Nebraska defense then stepped up and forced Chicago to punt after three plays, which resulted in Franz’s 70-yard return to pull his team within two points at 28-26. A two-point conversion on a pass from QB Moran Sweeney to WR Kelvin Tower (see footnote) tied the game at 28-28 with 4:35 remaining.

With 1:09 left in the game, Chicago had a first down at the Nebraska 41-yard line, but CB Riall Butler intercepted the ball at the Blizzards’ 10 to keep the score tied at 28-28 when time expired.

In overtime, the Bears won the toss and elected to receive, but on third-and-four Nebraska CB Travis Long intercepted the ball at the Chicago 37 and returned it to the 29 yard-line. After RB Jerome Sweeney ran six times for 21 yards, Eugene Rhodes stepped onto the field for the game-winning kick from 18 yards away and the ball sailed through the uprights to give Nebraska its seventh NFL championship and fifth in a row.

* In an obvious bug, WR Kelvin Tower was credited with scoring Nebraska’s game-tying two-point conversion. Tower plays for the Bears, not the Blizzards.

GM's kidnapped son returned after championship game

Lincoln, Neb. (Ticker) – Teary eyed, Nebraska Blizzards GM Grid Iron announced today that his son, missing for almost one full year, was returned to him after the team's Super Bowl victory yesterday. "I've never been happier in all of my life," Iron said. "I never gave up hope--he's a tough little guy."

Jack Iron, Jr., 13 years old, was kidnapped from the Iron home on New Year's Eve 2024. Police officials said that the young boy was not injured and is in good spirits.

The identity of the perpetrator is still a mystery. "Little Jack never saw his face," said the senior Iron. Iron declined comment when asked how the return of the child was arranged and if any ransom had been paid.

Moran Sweeney wins MVP award!

New York, NY (AP) – Nebraska Blizzards QB Moran Sweeney was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player today. “My brother would never let me live it down if I didn’t win it before I retired,” he said jokingly, referring to his fraternal twin RB Jerome Sweeney who won the MVP award in 2021.

Moran led the league in passing yards (4,040) and touchdowns (40), while throwing only 15 interceptions. His 97.3 quarterback rating was tops in the AFC and second in the NFL. The first-round draft pick (fourth overall) in 2017 out of Southwest Louisiana has led Nebraska to six Super Bowl victories in the last eight seasons.

2025 Season Review

The Blizzards' 2025 season continued the team's tradition of excellence
even in the face of adversity. With running back Jerome Sweeney struggling
with injuries all year, quarterback Moran Sweeney, Jerome's brother, carried
the team on his back to a fifth consecutive Super Bowl victory. On the year,
Moran threw for 4,040 yards and 40 touchdowns with just 15 interceptions to
win the league MVP crown. On the defensive side of the ball, safety Charles

Missing Russian Air Force Colonel found dead

Man was tied to theft of several high-tech combat helicopters

Lincoln, Neb. (Reuters) – FBI spokesperson Janice Brewer announced today that the agency is investigating the murder of Russian Air Force Colonel Vladimir Maritczak. Maritczak and his flight squadron disappeared in 2003 with several of Russia’s state-of-the-art Mako helicopters, prompting a worldwide manhunt.

Last night, his body was discovered by a chambermaid at the La Quinta Inn located in suburban Lincoln. “Mr. Marticzak died from a single gunshot wound to the back of the head, execution style,” said Brewer. “We have absolutely no idea why he was in Lincoln, Nebraska.” The FBI is asking anyone who has information relating to this crime to please contact your local field office.

The only items found in the room were Maritczak’s clothing and an empty laptop computer case. . .
