Drug Test Question

My girlfriend used to be a semi-frequent user of pot. She stopped smoking three or four weeks ago, but now she has a question. She has a job interview coming up in a few days, and if she gets the job she'll have to submit to a drug test. She's worried that the marijuana might still show up in her system even after this length of time (and her roommate is feeding her fear by telling her she needs to get certain things to clear her system).

However, I think that after three or four weeks she should be fine for a urine test. I would think that the only reason she would need to worry is if they did a hair sample test on her.

I'm certain that there are some folks here who have some experience on this sort of subject. If ya'll could let us know what you know on the subject, it would be highly appreciated (heh, no pun intended).

30 days min for urine, it's like 3 months for hair if I recall. There are products that will "flush" your system, but mostly they just cause an inconclusive result. As always, the best defense is not to do drugs.

And I'm not a habital drug user to know this, I used to deal with drug tests at my last job.

3-4 weeks should be ok, assuming it would be a couple of days before she gets the drug test but she can't cheat at all. My ex thought she could get away with one or two a couple weeks before and she got caught on it. She wasn't very bright

She should be alright if it's a urine test, as long as she doesn't do anything to try and beat the test. Any kind of masking agent or a dilluted sample would be viewed the same as testing positive for drugs. Also, products to clear her system probably won't do anything.

As klayman said, hair can be tested longer (actually up to a year I think), though I would be surprised if they did test.

There are a few simple steps to help increase her chances of passing, but it will be close.

1. Exercise alot until the test day. Inactive people take longer to remove the fat cells that store the THC.
2. The day before the test, and the night of the test drink alot of water, Stay up all night or get up really early and drink water. Take a vitamin 1-2 hours before the test. This will give your urine a nice yellow color. They can discount your test if your urine is clear.
3. If she fails the test because of too much water in the sample. Just say that she drank alot of water, because she was nervous that she wouldnt be able to pee.
4. Pray for the best

Look around, there are probably places in your area where she can take a pre-test for about $10, then she should have a good idea of where she is at. As said above, 30 days usually takes care of it.

If she doesn't fail the test, will she then go back to doing drugs? Sucks for that employer.

30 days is good... 2 weeks bad.... (know someone who had been clean for 2 weeks when he was pleasantly surprised to find out he was to be brought from temp status to full time-permanent and needed to take the test... failed it and now is waiting tables).

No, she won't do drugs, but, man she will start drinking like a fish, and come in at half performance with a hangover everyday, but, that's ok, it's legal!

Heh, her 21st birthday is coming up in a week and a half, so you may be right!

And no, I really doubt she would go back to smoking after the test. She stopped doing it because she knows that I don't really like her doing it (and she quit on her own, I didn't force her or anything).

Oh, there is onl variable that hasn't been mentioned here yet. What someone looks like can have a big impact on how long pt can be in their system, so we'll need you to post some damn pictures.

my buddy tried out one of those drinks that "flush" your system and it worked for him. He was smoking up until a few days before his drug test if i recall correctly.

Mcsweeny: they do work, but like someone mentioned, you can get inconclusive results. That means you will have to take the test again.

This is actually in my area of expertise: How she looks is important! Fat cells are the main long term storer of THC the active ingredient in Marijuana. How long her urine is going to be positive is dependent on two factors: 1. What percentage of body fat she has. 2. How much she smoked per day.

I've seen daily users who used a joint two to three times a day still show up positive on a urine test 30-45 days out. However, more casual or leaner people will generally be clean by 4 weeks for a urine specimen. A hair specimen can be positive for up to 6 months but 3-4 months is the usual length of danger.

In regards to masking the urine with dilution, it depends on what lab they send their urine specimen to and how expensive the test is, but some machines can detect attempts to alter the test via vitamins. The main factor is the specific gravity of the urine. Some labs have rather specialized tests to determine methods to alter this, other labs don't. Good luck in any case.

Search google for a home test kit, buy one, use as directed and if it comes out negative, she's in the clear. If NOT, go to a GNC and tell the person working there you are looking for something to clean your system for an upcoming pee test. You should then see a big blue bottle starring at you. Follow those directions, get another test kit and test yourself again right before your scheduled test so you know if you need to become sick or not. Acting sick will get you 2 more days with those pills.

Ok, so I have a sister-in-law who's a nurse and knows exactly how these things work....

I have had multiple friends pass piss tests four or five days after smoking. They did the whole flush your system thing and it worked fine. Blood tests are another story, i believe that they can go back as far as 6 months.

Tell her to have someone else piss in a small bottle. Then, she can store the bottle in her panties until she gets to the lab. This will keep it at body temperature. If she wants she can even slip the bottle literally inside her body for a more realistic effect.

When she goes into the bathroom to piss she only needs to dump the contents of the small bottle she has hidden. This method is fool proof and yes the piss will stay warm enough to pass their temperature test.

This doesn't work if they have someone in watching you pee, which does happen in some places.

A UTOX can cost as little as 5-8 dollars for a company that doesn't really care and just wants to appear as they test for drugs if they send it to a cheap lab. A rather sophisticated UTOX that can test for various masking effects can cost up to 600 dollars (most companies don't pay this much and just have the cheaper alternative done.)

Of course, it will probably be one where she has to do it at the place.

Here's what some mega-stoner did.

He had some sxe kid pee in a bottle for him. He went home and filled up 2 condoms with the kids piss and taped them to his legs. He went to the test and was going to pull it off when one of the condoms busted and poured all down his leg.. lol true story.
