Up until about 15 minutes ago, it was all set. It was gonna be set pieces training this week. Now I started thinking about it and I'm not so sure.
My main set pieces guy is excellent at set pieces. After him, I got a solid, but he's not "A" team material, after him, it drops to passable. I'm not doing a second week of stamina because all of my trainees at solid or better, except one at weak, and 2 at passable. This includes 3or 4 at excellent, so not much to gain from a second stamina week in a row, and a lot to lose in term of form. My second option is keeper training here is why: Francois Boisclair (14413581) 23 years, passable form, healthy Nationality: Canada Assessed value: 280 000 C$ Wage: 2 720 C$/week Owner: Pintendre Pittbulls Warnings: 0 Stamina: poor Goaltending: inadequate Playmaking: disastrous Passing: disastrous Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: disastrous He's the player I pulled last week. Value in US$ is 140k. I know he's a high inadequate and would hope to play him in the cup today and maybe see high pop... Answer the poll, should I train keeper, or go with set pieces??? FM

I'd say set pieces. If he doesn't pop then the week of training will be more or less a waste.

I would go with set pieces, that will help your entire team....especially with the cup and some games going into penalty kicks it might be the better safer bet. Atleast that is what I would do if I were in your situation.

Does set pieces still affect stamina? If so, wouldn't this negate your last week of training?

I was under the impression that set pieces did harm to players' stamina, but just looked at the training rules and it makes no mention of set pieces training hurting stamina. I'm not sure where I got it into my head that SP training would hurt stamina, but that apparently is not the case.

No, set pieces doesn't affect anything negatively. It used to affect form negatively I think, but it doesn't anymore... FM

I'd suggest set piece as well. Extra set piece may result in a long range goal for one of your striker (chances are remote, yes but it's still a chance). Plus your amphibious loyalty to the 4-5-1 may result in a penalty kickoff in the future.

On hattricks, before they updated it for HT 6.5, they were saying something to the effect that "set pieces used to reduce form(but may be stamina), but doesn't anymore"... that may be where you got that idea. thanks everyone for your comments... FM

That loyalty has dimmed more than a little since that darn 1-1 tie against a bot team more than a month ago... When you get 85 & 96% possession, you should score more than once... FM

Set Pieces used to harm stamina. However, they did away with that some time ago to get more people to train Set Pieces.

well, well, well, what a nice poll result we have here... As of 10:28 pm eastern time on Thursday, we have a tie, 11 apiece...
Thanks everyone for your comments, I have made my decision and will go with set pieces... I don't need the keeper training, I already have a solid one. My only goal was to hope he would pop, but it's a risky one. Had he been at 150k the decision might not have been the same... With set pieces, maybe I'll get some of the passable SP guys on my team go up to solid, and then be backup to my current excellent SP, in the event of a possible injury. Who know, Mr. Kindander (THE excellent one) might even feel good enough and pop to formidable... Dream on... ![]() FM
