New Stadium Size?
Has anyone figured out the magic behind determining what a city will accept as a fair and reasonable stadium size and/or cost?
I know if you're in a large city with a hugely successful team, you can almost bank on getting the most expensive possible stadium plan approved, but suppose you're trying to move to a new city, a smaller market, and build a new ballpark. I have a feeling that you can propose a stadium that's too small... but I don't know at what point that is. Any theories? |

Just from my experience... 65,000 seems like the smallest anybody will accept...
But, hey, let's continue this great dialogue we've got here... don't let me do all the talking. ![]() |

I'd be glad to pitch in, but I only have TCY. My only experience there is being given a smaller stadium after a decade of sell outs.

I have noticed this as well. I was moving a team to a small, poverty stricken city and thought that a 50000 seat stadium would be appropriate. It failed miserably, even though the team backed the move quite a bit. The following season I tried again with a 70000 seat stadium, footing the bill for the same amount, but smaller percentage of the total and the measure passed. I guess the best way is to test it out.
