OT - Another Disaster in Democracy?
Did I miss the thread? I remember reading about disaster because of some pissing match in Washington. Not sure why the shooting in Hew York wasn't listed as a disaster.
I would declare this a little bit more of a disaster than a little squabble that led to people resorting to name calling. Kind of ironic that he was shot by an opponent just as he was introducing something about workplace violence. Maybe it was just a visual aid gone awry. |

More of a security disaster in my opinion.
The irony was that the security was so lax in New York of all places. |

It also raises questions about security everywhere. What this shows is that nobody should be able to skip the security check no matter how powerful.

It's a MAJOR security disaster. I would like to hear more of the background on this situation though.
It seems strange to me that it didn't make a bigger headline though. I guess Saddam's sons kind of stole the press during that time period. |

probably. But it's still kind of surprising that it didn't get more press than it did(it got alot, but not as much as you would think it would).
