HAM tends to be the universal one

I have registered 2 of those on the list.
Hattrick Manager Hattrick Assistant Manager (HAM) I never use Hattrick Manager . . . so in a binary situation, I'd suggest you don't get Hattrick Manager. HAM is a very good program. |

I use HAM and HattrickPoli, although I don't know why I keep updating HPoli. Maybe in the event that the programmer came up with something amazing...
Oh and I almost forgot, I also use something promoted by somebody we might call The Evil Bill, a tiny program called Microsoft Excel ![]() FM

Seems like newest version of HAM works very very slowly for me. Don't know what to do about it.

This slowdown might have to do with the Transfer Evaluation updates - try turning off the "update with every HRF download" option, if you haven't already. That might help. |

Criollo falls into a different category than the others. It's a game viewer where you're able to view a number of games at the same time and bookmark certain teams to bring up their games later. Old School (or just old) people like TP just use browsers that allows them to set those pages to autoupdate (essentially the same thing). The only benefit is the ability to bookmark certain teams.
The others basically helps you keep track of your team with regards to things like past performance, ratings and value changes and what nots. The most popular of the bunch is HAM. It's able to retrieve information from Hattrick beyond HRF so you do get a bit more information. From Frogger's thread, I s'pose being able to notice when your serie mates have made a big purchase is probably also useful. I also use HattrickPoli. It can retrieve the HRF so you can still get player informations. But unless something drastic has changed recently, you will have to enter game details yourself (basically, cut-and-paste from your browser) if you want to keep track of past performances. |

I agree with daedalus, I almost forgot about Criollo. This is a gametime kind of app. It won't help you manage your team, but will make you enjoy the game time better, unless you do like TP.
The thread daedalus is referring to is this one: how does it smell to you?, where while using something called "series spy" in HAM, I came to see something fishy done by a leaguemate. "series spy" does just what its name implies, it tells you what the other teams in your league are up to in terms of transfers, injuries, coach changes... FM

In addition to what's already been said...
I like and use HAM because of it's "automation" that is, you don't have to manually enter things. I used HTPoli and didn't care for it much, my biggest complaint was a lack of documentation and difficulty understanding how to use its features fully. For my team lineups, I use Hattrick Organizer (HO!) and then play with my settings from there, based on ratings and stuff. I tried MyBestTeam for Hattrick, but I didn't care for how it set my lineup. I also use Excel files, though I'm not as adept as others here are with them ::cough, cough:: FrogMan ::cough, cough::. ![]() ~terpk

Usually when that happens to me, HT is either down or runs into a glitch. Did you try again?
Failing that, shut down HAM and restart it and try again. And failing that, uninstall and then re-install it. I just checked mine, and it seemed to work for me. ~terpk
