Need some advice/feedback
I have began my search for a hotel and restaurant management internship for next summer, as I will have completed my soph. year at college. I have contacted The Leading Hotels of the World (www.lhw.com), as my school is a member of the Leading Hotel Schools of the World (CEO of it is an alumni of our school). However, I want to go overseas, preferrably to Sydney, Australia. I always been dreaming of possibility relocating down to that place after I get out of college, and an internship would give me a chance to feel it out (not just a vacation, but a short-term residence). I however, am having a hard time deciding if this is what I want, and how I go about doing it (finding internship opps).

Hotel management... so, you're gonna be kinda like Michael J. Fox in "For Love or Money," right?

I not sure...Lol.
But in all serious, I am curious into how I should follow up on such a response. I like to find hotel companies based in the Sydney-area, but am not sure who to look for. Anyone know how long visa and passports "approval" would take? |

You put --------- over your name in the letter but you left your name when you signed it.
Good luck whatever you do. |

This is probably what I would do...
Take it as a positive reply, thank him for the response, and let him know that you look forward to meeting with him when you get back to school. If you really want to get moving ask him if he has any advice or recommendations of things that you can do during the rest of the summer and/or work to schedule a good date/time for your meeting. Edit - but definitely follow up and keep the contact open and available; he probably has a decent number of contacts that he can help you out with. Last edited by ScottVib : 07-29-2003 at 04:07 PM. |

Just remember, the WORST thing you can ever do is not follow through with a contact who looks like they can help you out. This burned me a couple times in college and I paid the price for it a bit after I got out. Make sure you always keep the lines of communication open. Not saying you have to write once a day or week, but just every once in a while so they remember who you are
