Disappointing that I make my yearly visit to the OOTP forums, and HM did not post in the entire thread. At least he was entertaining, Mrs K is just annoying.

Once again, I heart QuikSand.

Hey, he was only suspended for two weeks, and it has been like two months.... I can't do him like that.

I'm NOT going to intentionally go back on my word. The suspension was not permanent. If he does something worthy of a permanent ban, rest assured that I won't hesitate.

Can't you just ban him again for the idiocy he displayed on the OOTP board?

There should be some sort of "idiot message board poster registry" like with sexual predators. If they move to another board, they have to register with the forum moderator.

I agree with him. Lou Gramm stole my damn lunch money 3 years ago. And because of that, Mick Jones is dead in my eyes. F*ckin' Foreigners.

and this is what the pinhead said after throwing all that conspiracy crap out there...

"You can't fault either side here. In this case, 400softwarestudios.com's fate rests in the hands of the Internet gods.

If Markus was given correct information when he started the transfer process, it should take around 48 hours. Meaning the site should be up today or tomorrow. Cool!!!"

Just one quick post and I'll step aside to let everyone chew on this. Feel free to throw eggs if you must, but I ask that you consider my apologies and a plea for peace.

In reference to the "never trust a foreigner" that I made, I should never have said it. It was made because I was unhappy with the split and no thought went into it.

After the fact, I realized this comment was inappropriate and uncalled for, even in the context it was made. However, I couldn't delete it than, for whatever reason, and I can't delete it now, because the thread is closed. I've kindly asked the moderators to remove this post for me on my behalf, as I believe it doesn't belong on the board and doesn't reflect my true feelings.

Markus is a good guy and someone I really respect. Knowing the situation, it is not his fault that the 400 site is down. However, its not Arlie or Joe's fault either. The fault lies entirely with the domain registrar. I was merely upset that people think because the 400 site is down, it has something to do with Joe and Arlie's abilities. And many like to harken back to the TDCB release.

I now believe Markus and his reasoning for the split. And I think it will be for the best, in terms of future game quality. Like Jim, he wants to keep things a small operation and stick to what he loves doing best.

At the same time, Markus had enough class to make sure that Joe and Arlie could keep their corporate identity and have the resources they need to keep it a viable operation.

In the end, I think we'll both be rewarded with products from two fine companies.

As for my previous actions, I apologize if I ever offended anyone. It's my desire to be a positive contributor this this and other related communities. True I do get fired up at times. That's just my personality.

In the past I've said, if any of you ever met me face to face, most of you'd probably like me. Some of you'd hate me. That could be true of any person.

My invite still stands. If you live near Manteca, Calif. or are ever going to be near here. Drop me a note. I'd love to get together to head to a sports bar and watch the big game. And show you who I really am.

Wow, that was the best skippy post ever (the above apology). It was coherent, sincere, and didn't reek of blatant troll behavior.

So, what have you done with the real skippy?

Apology accepted.

sony -- I didn't mean it in the way you think. I'd love to attend one of those FOFC, OOTP, etc. get-togethers one day. Only if they weren't in Atlanta, even though I've wanted to visit there for years.

How about a get-together for FOFCers, OOTPers, 400ers, etc. sometime shortly in California. I know we have some from So Cal. Not sure how many from Nor Cal. Perhaps we get some tips on what to do from the Atlanta crowd and have a party for the West Coasters.

Those looking for the old thread. It was deleted. I only requested my comments be removed, but I think its best the whole thing was removed. It was a pointless thread and needed to go.

Again, I hope to be a positive contributor here, there, and elsewhere from this point on. And if I ever screw up, I think it's only fair that I be permanently removed from the community.

Welcome back Skippy. I asked the Dog a couple of weeks ago if you were only temporarily banned or perma banned and he said temporary. Ahem, guess it wasn't enough to jog his memory though.

It seems you should definitely tread lightly on your return. The natives appear mighty restless around here. Seems some people really are too touchy for their own goods or at the very least that your unique brand of freaking out isn't well received. It's up to you to decide which one is more likely.

Anyway, welcome back, enjoy your stay and all that.

No comment as I don't wish to dwell on my advancing age but it was in a thread not a pm. I have no idea which one now and we were discussing banning guys ( see why it's so futile to try and narrow it down? ) and I asked about him.

It may have been the Blackadar one but I don't know. I'll have a look myself.

Ahhhh.....now I know what happened. When you asked me about mrskippy's status 3 weeks ago, I'm quite sure I didn't look it up, I just answered from memory that he wasn't perma-banned, and frankly haven't thought about it since. (Heck, I didn't even remember that you'd asked about him.) When I saw him mention in the .400 thread that he wasn't allowed to post here, I went and looked it up. Lo and behold, I'd forgotten to un-suspend him.

LESSON LEARNED FOR OL' SKYDOG: I need to tell everyone who I suspend to send a reminder e-mail to me when their time in the box is up. I usually do so, but not always.

I wasn't implying anything by my tongue in cheek remark Dog. I hope you already knew that. I honestly don't think you'd bother with doing something like that because if you wanted to, you could just ban them straight up.

Still, it was almost a month and a half into a two week banning of a high profile user.....

Kidding.

I'll remember to e-mail.

Seriously though, I'd seen skippy's name pop up under the who's online after that thread and assumed that he wasn't still banned. I didn't know banned people could log in and be seen. I did pull up the profile and it said banned but those are things the user can edit usually so I figured it was him being a smart ass. Had I known otherwise I may have pmed you about it but probably not. Skippy could have done that himself had he cared to post IMHO.

Well, mrskippy was "suspended" not "banned." People who are suspended are listed as "In The Penalty Box." (A permanent bans get your user name deleted.) Currently (and this can be changed by admins), suspended users can view the board, but not post or PM.

Ah.

I always thought that it was a semantic difference between the suspended and the banned. I see that it's more than that.

I think a suspension is worse. It's sad to see that someone who is pressing their nose on the window of their own house but no one can hear them or acknowledge them because they're on the outside looking in. I give my warmest regards to good king Tantalus.
