Training and Tactics Question
How many wingers can you have in a match?
If I set my Central Defender "towards the wing" would he be a winger or a wingback? Do wingbacks get winger training?

He'd be a Central Defender playing Towards the wing. he would not be playing at the wing only towards it.

You can play only two wingers and two wingbacks during a match.
Players playing "towards the wing" do not receive winger training for that match. Wingers receive full training. Wingbacks receive 50% training.

Hey Looking at the training does anyone know which is more bennificial training scoreing or shooting
The help states that scoreing is Scoring Forwards ((others)) and shooting is (Scoring) (Outfielders) ((Others)) (Set Pieces) ((All)) So as I see it scoreing is just forwards where as shooting is all outfeilds, which is more bennificial short and long term? can I get some opinions please? as well what are some favorable formations for each of the different skills?

I believe you should do scoring. Shooting trains at a slower pace. I think.

Shooting trains scoring at about half the pace of normal scoring, I believe.

Shooting trains all outfielders in scoring (as well as minor set pieces training). The problem with this is two-fold:
1. The (scoring) means that players train at about 50% normal speed. 2. Forwards are the only position where the scoring skill matters. Either way, you're better off doing scoring training, IMHO.

I wonder if anyone has done research at whether or not shooting is really 50% speed for training. I'd think that even at a slower rate if you bought a bunch of young passables at scoring and played them everywhere (CD, Winger, Wingback, IM), you'd make as much if not more than just training Scoring. Let's say you throw friendlies/cup matches, and play 10 trainees using shooting training. If it's really 50% of the training, it'll take what...18 weeks to bump them all once? You'd also be getting periodic Set Pieces bumps, which would just be gravy. Assuming you'd get 100,000 for each Solid scorer you sold, you're making 1,000,000 every 18 weeks...not to mention your starters who get training as well. Probably not as good a return as bumping guys up to Formidable or something...but still a decent return.

As far as I know, wingbacks have always received 50% winger training. At least they have since I started playing about a year ago.

Great.... I heard there are some formations that will kill your weeks training. How can I avoid this, while maximizing my training?

Try to play one of the formations listed on the training page. If you play like a 1-7-2, you won't get training.

If your training defending, a 5-4-1 is the best legal formation to train them under.

It's advisable to stick with one of the "listed" formations, because your squad can develop experience with those, but there are a couple of legal formations (5-5-0, 2-5-3) that IIRC aren't listed. |

so as this reads as long as i don't have specificly 4+ at a possition it should be legal do no more that 6 players per week would get max training except 8 when training defence(+2 wingbacks). does that sound right? edit spelling

If you are training forwards the max per week you can train is 6. If you are training defense you can train 10 players a week max, 6 central defenders and 4 wingbacks. If you are training playmaking you can train 6 players at inner mid, and 4 a wing (wingers get 1/2 the training) so you are training 10 players but only 6 get full training. If you are training keeper you can get 2 players max. I am pretty sure that is how it goes |
