Help Me Choose my Madden 2004 Dynasty!!!!!
So I really want to play some Madden 2004 Franchise/Owner Style. Help me out -
I have always been interested in Empty Cupboard dynasties in FOF. It seems an interesting way to build a team, but I've never used it. As such, I'd like to try an Empty Cupboard Madden 2004 dynasty, which I think should prove interesting. Now, here's my issue - What team should I play? It makes no sense to blow up a good team. Nobody would buy the Rams (which I think Georgia could be pursuaded to sell) and then jettision all of those good players. But it certainly is within the realm of possibility for other teams. The way I see it, there are three options: Cincinnati - The Bengals have recently the the epitome of suck. They make poor busines decisions, poor staffing decisions, poor player decisons, and so forth. However, as recently as the late 80's the Bengals were a hot team, making it to the Super Bowl. The recent hire of Marvin Smith and the subsequent abdication of some power to him reveals a new Bengals. As such, they certainly have to have their contention status questioned. Arizona - Arizona has been a suck franchise for longer than any other franchise out there. The Saints are currently pretty good, so we'll skip them. Ditto the Rams. But the Cards are sucking and they have continued to suck for large swaths of time. However, very recently the Cards made it to the playoffs and defeated the Cowboys. As such, we've seen a good Cardinals team very recently, more so than the Bengals. However, that team is mostly gone, and Arizona is truly a suck team. Detroit - The Lions were gifted by Barry Sanders from on high and they still couldn't go deep into the playoffs. However, even recent Bobby Ross teams backed their way into the playoffs. Might have been ugly 8-8 and 9-7 playoff teams, but playoffs nevertheless. The recent version of the Lions, however, are old and slow. Which would you like the see? Would you like to see another team (and of so, which?). -Anxiety

I decided to go with Carolina, but i didn't jettison anyone. They really aren't that bad of a team, but they are in desperate need of a QB and secondary. The DL is very stout, which I like. maybe they are too good, but oh well I am going with them. The only thing else I wish they had was an older stadium. I would like to build a new stadium, but there's is only 7 years old.

I'm going with Carolina simply because they're my favorite team... for the above though, I voted Detroit. Cinci and Arizona are just too damn cursed. I don't think Detroit has such a curse. Good luck with the empty cupboard, i'm curious to see how that goes in Madden.

Darn it, I'm 0-2. I'm either sick or need some glasses. I voted "other", but said to myself, "He should play with Arizona".
Arizona would be a perfect team. Since they left St. Louis, they've been in turmoil. Ok, so they sucked here as well. ![]() I'm using the Rams, so what if I loathe my home team. Todd |

I was initially leaning towards Arizona, but I also saw merit in the other two teams as well. But I figured that it would be a runaway Bengals vote, because they are the kitschy choice for bad, cursed, sucky, etc
But, now that I see that Arizona is a major player in your minds and well as mine for wrost team of all time, and that Cincy is really back there, I think I'll go with the Cardinals. Expect to see some posts on a this new dynasty in the next couple of days or so. -Anxiety

Awesome! I really think Cincy will have a better record than Arizona this year. Cincy has a coach now, and the team will get better. Looking foward to reading your dynasty. Madden 2004 has been fun to play thus far. I didn't like 2003, but 2004 seems much better as far as gameplay goes. Todd |

I will be starting a Miami Dolphins dynasty as soon as I purchase the game.

I'm thinking Arizona too, for the simple reason that I could move them to L.A. and actually get a pretty cool stadium built. Methinks that's kinda fun.

I would like to see some dynasties with this thinking in mind. Stretch the game as far as it will go, that's the FOFC way. ![]() Todd |
