Oh for crying out loud!
Lost my Cup match to a series III team while playing all subs and PICing. Check out the score.
Date: 8/14/2003 at 01:00 Arena: The Money Pit Crowd: A scorching day at The Money Pit, where 20000 spectators were in place for today´s match. Pantalones had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Mclaughlin - Vaillant, Dennison, Öhstål - Orenerberg, Andrei, Obukhov, Sherborn, Ilinca - Abel, Lloyd. Wangdoodles had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Robertson - Pihlborg, Rambo, Jonsson - Kolb, Archuleta, Wray, Dukes, Sands - Hendrix, Lomax. Wangdoodles took the lead in the games 5:th minute with 0 - 1 after some elegant plays down the middle. Randall Lomax was the scorer. The visitors Anthony Sands took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 10:th minute. 0 - 2 for Wangdoodles. The structure of the game started to change as Wangdoodles decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. In the to 23rd minute a very unfortunate collision in the home teams penalty area led to Pantalones´s Relu Ilinca being carried off the pitch and replaced by Albert Lobodin. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 2. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Wangdoodles, with an impressive 67 percent possession of the ball. Anthony Sands came close to extending the visitors lead as he, completely unmarked in front of the goal, lifted a ball over Johnie Mclaughlin, hitting the bar. Wangdoodles came close to extending their lead as Randall Lomax delivered a long range shot from the right but the angle was to sharp, and the shot hit the side of the goal. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Wangdoodles, with an impressive 70 percent possession of the ball. Most important Pantalones player was Jean-Louis Vaillant. Stefan Andrei on the other hand, had a terrible day. Wangdoodles´s best player was Matt Archuleta. Anthony Sands on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 2. Now check out the ratings: Adios Pantalones Midfield: weak Right Side Defence: inadequate Central Defence: passable Left Side Defence: passable Right Side Attack: weak Central Attack: inadequate Left Side Attack: passable Wangdoodles Midfield: excellent Right Side Defence: brilliant Central Defence: magnificent Left Side Defence: brilliant Right Side Attack: excellent Central Attack: solid Left Side Attack: inadequate Funny stuff, although if knew the engine liked upsets so much, I would have played my starters. |

I think that just recently, the game engine was tweaked so that if your lower division team loses to a higher division team, your team spirit will rise.
My team in D.V just upset a D.III team playing normal with a pregame spirit of paradise on earth and it stayed there following the match. I hope this holds as I play the top team in my division V.53, a recently relegated team, on Sunday.

I lost 8-0 to a D.IV team and my TS jumped from content to POE as well. My confidence went down to wretched though, but I'm pretty happy with the TS jump.
