Well Guys, I'm Finished... It's Been Great at FOFC. (Terrible News)

Unfortunately my wife and I are splitting up after 5+ Years together and over 4 Years of Marriage. She wants this and I don't. Apparently over time I've slowly but surely screwed things up beyond repair. You know, the little things that slowly build up over time. I hope none of you have to ever experience the kind of heartache I currently am dealing with as I am about to lose the true love of my life and what I thought was my soulmate.

In saying all of this, I've decided that the best thing for me to do is get away.. Get away from the area I live.. Get away from everything that associates me with my wife and my normal, day to day life.. Just basically get away from it all. Where exactly that is, I don't know.

I just don't know how to deal with this and I just don't think I can if my soon to be ex-wife is nearby. (There isn't a absolutely devastated and heartbroken smilie available, but if it was, it would be inserted right now).

This also means my long running association with FOFC is over as well. I just feel as if an entire change of pretty much every faction of my life is needed at this point as I try to cope with what has happened. I know not posting at this site any longer pales in comparison to what is going on in my life right now but I just wanted to make it public in case anyone out there ever wondered what happened to me (ala, HFP).

Right now I'm scared and shocked and afraid and confused and devastated and many other terrible things that I just wish would go away. Hopefully they will in time..

I never thought my final post at FOFC would contain the phrase "My Wife and I are Splitting Up", but I guess in life it is really true that nothing is guaranteed.

Take care my friends and God Bless.

Signing Off for the Last Time,

MYLES

Hope that you figure out what you think you need to figure out. We all make mistakes, but nothing is 100% entirely at one persons fault.

We'll miss you here, and hopefuly you will comeback and we can debate whether college football needs a playoff again.

Best of luck to you.

Even though, I am a relative new person to the community I will miss you too. Also, I would like you to consider that making drastic decisions after a major life change is often not a good idea. Obviously, leaving this board is not one of these drastic decisions, but changing everything in your life would be. I'd like to recommend that you consider taking a few days to think about everything before you change your entire lifestyle even though you are in a world of pain right now. Good luck.

Keep your head high MK. These things happen. About 25% of all people end up divorced. Those are hard odds to beat.

Not mush is worse then marriage problems. I know a lot of what you may have been going through for some time now Myles and i hope things look up for you. Listen to some depressing music and have a few beers if you drink, just keep yourself safe and sound and keep that head on straight and think things through. Best of luck!

I truly believe these two things to be true:

The courage to change the things I can

And the wisdom to know the difference

Bah. He'll be back.

He'll realize sooner or later that the no-good woman that just ripped his heart out would LOVE to know that he's basically trashed everything he enjoys on account of her. He'll get angry, then he'll get even. He'll come to this realization... lose 40 pounds... start dating some hottie that's 10 years her junior... and when he's had enough of that nubile poontang, he'll log on here and tell us all about it.

I guess what I'm trying to say, MK, is, give her an extra thrust for all of us here at FOFC.

Well, first of all I'd like to truly thank everyone here at FOFC for their well-wishes way back when this thread was unfortunately began a number of months ago. That is from the heart guys, I appreciate it more than you'll ever know.

As for the situation, the biggest thing that I've learned through it all can be summed up in one brief but extremely important statement.. "Life does go on no matter what."

It certainly still is a daily battle in a lot of ways, but I've learned a lot about myself and life in general. All I can do is hope for the best and do what I can to make things the best for myself that I can possibly make them be.

I apologize if this post and thread for that matter being as self focused as it is, I certainly am a modest person and do not like to bring much attention to myself for the most part... I really just wanted to say THANK YOU! I know the majority of us will most certainly never actually meet one another in person but it is nice to have a place to come to discuss things with such a wide range of individuals and personalities. This truly is a great place.

god when i read the top part i was going to say, dont change you!!!! Only do whatever makes you happy!! now is the time ti be selfish!!

but it seems you stayed? yes, im glad since the FOFC is one of thsoe things that makes you happy you should cherish it. Not throw it away. Now is the time to add all the things you have the selfishly make you happy and grow out from there until sometime, you'll have space in there to not be selfish. That is what I say and Im so glad that you are you, whoever that may be.
