another round of rate my purchase

i paid $213,500 for this guy. He'll be my best midfielder and put up 3.5 stars when played normal in a recent match. I figure he'll put up 4 stars if i play him offensively.

and here he is:

Randall Ferris (1631556)
28 years, inadequate form, healthy
A nasty fellow who is balanced and honest.
Has poor experience and weak leadership abilities.

Speciality: Unpredictable

Nationality: USA
Assessed value: 214 000 US$
Wage: 2 280 US$/week
Owner: S. Boston Hooligans
Warnings: 1

Stamina: excellent Goaltending: wretched
Playmaking: solid Passing: passable
Winger: weak Defending: poor
Scoring: weak Set Pieces: passable

let the cries of overspending begin!

I doubt you'll get 4 stars out of him, but you'll get 3.5 stars out of him in good form.

maybe in excellent form you'll get 4 stars, but i still doubt it.

I don't think its a bad deal, you didn't get a steal thats for sure. But i don't think you really overpaided either. I think its ok to pay a little more for guys that are your nationality since you save the 20% bonus thing.

Plus i think he is a mid to high solid PM, I have a guy that looks alot like him with 3 weeks training towards excellent PM and passable stamina who's assessed value is only like 175k.

Gotta agree.

Still, he puts up 3.5 stars for ~200K so it's not too bad of a deal. We're all collectively wishy-washy on it so you probably got a good deal (i.e. you could get cheaper out there but it would take a bit of effort)

stars mean nothing anway.

its a decent buy. like your last guy you posted, the combination of scoring and set peices also gives him a small chance at long shot opportunities. the downsides are the unpredictable specialty (in my opinion this is one to avoid) and he's a bit old. buying older players can be good if they have high experience but this guy doesnt.

As them fellas said, expect something closer to 3 - 3 1/2-stars but still a good buy especially if it's what your team needs. IF you aren't training playmaking.

The bonus of passable set piece is good, especially if you don't have anything better than him. And if you do, you'll still appreciate it during the next Cup when you try to set your penalty kick order. I think the unpredictable specialty will actually be interesting. Unless you already have a better passing middle infielder, I'd consider pairing him up with your best winger (ie, put them on the same side) for a bigger offensive boost.

i'm playing him on offensive with my offensive winger (2.5 stars) in today's game

so far i've had three goals like this

A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Hooligans´s Mark Loomis putting the lead up to 2 - 0.

can i attribute this to the new guy? i played my other inner mids on normal or defensive in the past
