Any Sabres fans?
Nice couple of signings in the offseason thus far. Lots of young talent and nice top two lines now.
I'm figuring Drury, Afinogenov, Pyatt, Connolly, Hecht, Satan for the top two lines, maybe Begin, Briere and Dumont on the 3 line. Good mixture on D with the addition of Delmore, now which of the young goalies is going to take a stranglehold on the starting job?

I think the Sabres will look to trade Martin Biron and throw their lot in with Ryan Miller. He's sort have been the heir apparent for a while now. I think it's time to give him a shot.
Delmore is a liability. Great on the power-play, but an utter defensive liability. I guess it can't hurt too much. The Sabres don't have too much mobility along the blue-line. I like the Drury pick-up. The top lines don't look too bad assuming Connolly pans out as expected.

Sabre fan here.....
They are definitely making some moves in the right direction. I think that the time is now for Ryan Miller as Biron has had his chance and he appears to be a career backup. I would even be willing to go with Noronen over Biron.

Agreed on Delmore being a bigtime D liability, but pair him with a big bruiser that can stay at home and cover his mistakes some, and you'll more than get your money's worth (still think they got a steal at that salary).
What's the likely scenario for Noronen? If they go with Miller are they going to try and keep him around, or deal for a veteran backup, or spend a couple years and see which goalie fits best and use Biron as a backup? Between the Sabres and the Jackets, it's becoming an interesting off season (and don't even mention Colorado...)

speaking of Colorado, we'll take Biron if you don't want him.

If Begin is on your third line, you've got problems...

Heh, not if your top 2 lines are playing 40+ minutes worth of hockey a game. And really, Begin's game will do nothing but improve with some of the players they're bringing aboard that'll help teach him (ie: Drury). That said, I haven't followed the Sabre's closely enough to know if he'll be a 3rd/4th/backup player for them.
