Partypoker.com
Is this where most of you guys play? I used to play here and just last night, reactivated my account.
Do any of you FOFCers get together for a little real money poker play at all? Also, how exactly do the tournaments there work? I played 25 and 50 dollar NL last night, and did pretty decent. Yeah, thanks to all you guys for getting me back into this habit. ![]()

When we get together, it's usually at Absolute Poker. Party Poker is very good, along with Poker Stars.
I'm afraid I'm not good enough to play for real money. |

I play at Party... the consensus seems to be that its best asset is the plentiful poor players, especially at the lower levels. The .50/1.00 tables are chock full of newbies, who play absurdly loosely and passively. The low-level tournaments are a mixed bag, but probably half the people playing there seem pretty clueless as well.
Predictably, as the tsakes go up, so does the overall caliber of play. I'm still plus against the $3/$6 Hold Em and Omaha games, but not by very much. The tournaments, as nearly as I can tell, just open up for takers - the low-level affairs seem to fill in very quickly (an evening $10+1 HE tourney will fill up in 30 seconds). I don't know about slating private tables or anything of the sort... but I suspect it's possible. |

Partpoker.com is too loaded in terms of players. I want a tourney for player play money.

I play occasionally at pokerroom.com and they have tourney play for play money. They also have a multi-table tourney twice a day where you use play money to buy in, but the winners get real money.

Yes, you can set up private tables for real money at partypoker. I've never done it though.

I should probably learn the game and get in on some of this. Won some $35 dollars today on vengence gambling, so I should probably try some cards while my luck is still on.

Same here. I've only played poker a couple of times, and one of those times I took my brother and brother-in-law to the cleaners. Too bad we weren't playing with real cash...
