Double Secret Probation
Did anyone pick up the Animal House "Double Secret Probation" edition DVD that was released on the 26th?
If so, did they add anything worth seeing?

Some of the things you will come up with to copy a shorty thread are way over my head. You confuse me.

Same here. I rented the original a couple of nights ago so that my girlfriend could see it (she had somehow made it to 21 years of age without ever seeing Animal House!!!), and I wonder what kind of extras they put on the new DVD...

They have a 30 minute, where are they now that's pretty funny. They show Kevin Bacon's character on a Mission's trip to Africa. There is a shot from his brilliant movie "The Air up there"

I just got the "Double Secret Probation" DVD version of Animal House. I've also seen the original DVD version. My conclusion? If you've already got Animal House on DVD, the "Double Secret Probation" version probably isn't worth dropping $20 to buy. The only new material is the series of mocumentary interviews with some of the actors playing in character 25 years later and discussing their lives since the movie. It includes:
Boone & Katy Flounder Otter Hoover D-Day Babs Dean Wormer Marion Wormer Otis Day Chip Diller (in a voice-over with photo montages) Some of these are moderately funny, but it's nothing earth-shattering. It also has the behind-the-scenes documentary done 5 years ago featuring interviews with most of the producers, writers and cast and director. If you have the previous DVD release that has this documentary then I probably wouldn't bother buying the "Double-Secret Probation" version... |
