I'm surprised Steve McNair was there in the 10th round. Not as shocking as the McNabb thing in the other draft, but surprising none the less. I'm stunned about Julius Peppers in both of these leagues. I don't see how you can take Terrell Suggs or Warren Sapp over this guy in any system. Thoughts on individual teams:

TeamR: I'm not sure I've ever seen a team with more injury question marks on it. It seems like every player is either coming off a severe injury, has had an injury history in the past, or seems to be due for one. Assuming Gannon, Holmes, Lewis, Davis, Bruce, McNair, Buchanon, Boulware and Kearse hold up, I think it's a pretty strong team.

TeamRR: I loved the draft until about pick 10. Great group of skill guys at the top.

TeamSR: I can't really understand picks 6 (Franks), 11 (Vrabel), 13 (Larry Johnson), or 15 (Olandis Gary). I think all of them were picked to high. Johnson and Gary could make me eat my words if there are injuries to the other two.

TeamBP: I don't like the Suggs or Sapp picks where they went. (I love Suggs, but he's certainly not worthy of a #13 right now) If your backup QB is Kordell Stewart, you had better get on the phone and swing some trades. Ouch.

TeamP: As close as I can figure, Keyshon is this teams #1 WR? Ouch. I like the RB situation to a degree, but the WR situation is horrible.

TeamPG: Great value getting Green in round 12. Nice pair of RB's and WR's to start off with. I like the defense. Does he get any bonus points for grabbing both Barber brothers?

TeamGB: Could be the best team in the league IF Staley plays well and both top RB's stay healthy. Bennett is gone for a minimum of 6 weeks and probably the year. That's a wasted pick at #5. That single pick could cost this team the league.

TeamSB: The top dog. Rb's galore. There are a lot worse things then having to "settle" on Bledsoe as your #1 QB. Holcumb looks good to this point. Thing is, even if there is a weakness, this guy has the resources to get another QB. Like the defensive selections. Lelie is an absolute steal.

TeamTS: No running back depth at all. I'd find that ok if the person could have drafted a top notch WR/QB combo. Garcia was a reach in the second round. A lot of other great options to choose from there. I don't like the team at all.

TeamFRM: This is the clear cut #2 IMO. If either of the Smith's run the ball well, this team should score very well. Great WR and QB's. It all comes down to the second RB.

Thanks TroyF, good (valued) analysis. GB won last year, and I have no idea what he was thinking with Bennett. RR (the diehard Fins fan) is usually strong, as is SB (in any sport, he's pretty shrewd). I thought McNair was a great pick in the 10th (I was not in the market for a QB at that point, but had considered him much higher). In general, I'm not for choosing D-linemen, as they don't get too many tackles and are irregular with sacks (Suggs, Sapp). I didn't understand the Keyshawn pick, especially as he had burned me TWICE in the past. I agree with the RB situation for FRM, both Smiths are question marks.

No problem. Just understand that I have my personal favorites like anyone else and make the comments accordingly. If someone were a huge Jeff Garcia fan, for instance, my analysis wouldn't be that valuable on him. I don't like Antwone Smith and never have. A couple of years ago, he had a great year and helped a guy in a league I was in win it all.

I just call em like I see em.

There are a couple of guys on my team who have been before (one has both years I've done FF), but other than that, I picked no real favorites.

Team FRM took a risk in picking Vick 4th. If he comes back and can recapture the magic then it is a great pick. Warner is injury prone and may or may not have a good season. An injury and team FRM will have to swing a trade.

Didn't Peppers get suspended last season?
Personally, I'd rather stay away from guys who have a history, not because they might do bad things again, but rather the side effects of becoming unpopular and becoming a "bad name" player who will be dragged through the mud as soon as he farts too loud in a restaurant.

He was suspended. He also had 12 sacks in 12 games, added an INT, 5 forced fumbles and 6 passes defended. He plays rush end on one of the strongest lines in the NFL. He'll lead the NFC in sacks this year.

Troy, my points wasn't the talent issue.
My point was that guys with a "bad name" are more bound to get suspended again, not because they want to, but because the outside world has too much people loving to see people get their careers destroyed.

I think I feel picking one of those guys with a bad name too risky.
Looking at the fantasy draft I'm in, Jimmy Smith hasn't been picked after 140 selections.

Of course, what do I know? Since the year Terrell Ownes and Tony Gonzalez started the preseason with flirting to the NBA I stayed away from them and I fear to draft any one of them since then, even knowing they might be All Fantasy players once again.

I agree with you. Taking Vick was definitely of a risk. So was Warner I suppose. Both have high risk but high reward.

Peppers I don't see as being much of an issue. I think the suspension was more a misunderstanding of a rule, he doesn't have an inherent problem like some other players. And he's over with his suspension. There are still some D guys out there that can replace him if need be.

Oh yeah -- I'm team FRM
