Re: My Lineup
QB - Daunte Culpepper - He was either hit or miss last year, either doing next to nothing for your team or nearly singlehandedly winning the matchup for you if you had him. He didn't turn the ball over much in the preseason, so I'd expect him to be more consistent this year
RB - LaDainian Tomlinson - Very solid pick RB - Curtis Martin - Should be solid even though he doesn't seem to be the back he was a few years ago. Lamont Jordan will probably take carries and touchdowns away from him WR - Marty Booker - Had an excellent year last year, and though I don't know if he can replicate it this year with Kordell he should still be good WR - Chris Chambers - Explosive wideout, should be good for you TE - Desmond Clark - Not real sure on him, probably can't expect him to contribue every week K - David Akers (PHI) - He's who I rank as the #1 fantasy kicker D - Miami - Obviously they should be good, definately won't hurt you BENCH WR Santana Moss - A good wideout and an added value as a returner. I'd expect him to see more passes this year with the loss of Coles, but I wouldn't start him in the first couple weeks QB Drew Brees (had Chad Pennington, dangit) - Definately not a bad backup to have as the Chargers offense should be much improved this year WR Ike Hilliard - Coming off a season ending injury, so you have to be hoping for the best. Was good but not great when he played last year, but he's probably going to be coming back as the #3 option, maybe even the #4. RB T.J. Duckett - Didn't do a whole lot last year. I think he's a good back though not someone I'd want on my team because you can never really tell when he's going to get many carries. Unless something happens to Dunn it will be a gamble starting him. As his 2002 gamelog shows, he's gonna be hit or miss, and even when you hit he's not gonna be that great. BUT, without Vick things may change, so it could be worth holding on to him. Last edited by mckerney : 08-30-2003 at 02:04 AM. |

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. Yeah i agree on Culpepper, I'm not sure how he'll do but I kind of reached for him in the draft, I figure he won't throw as many int's this year, and it looks like he gets you a lot of points with rushing TD's near the goal line because of his size. Without a proven runner now, maybe the Vikes will throw even more than they have before.
Pennington's injury really hurt Santana Moss's chances of having a breakout year--third year WR's seem to always break out in that year. I figured he would get all the looks Coles was getting last year. |

More on Carswell:
He only registered a catch in 8 games last season, and only had 4 games with more than 2 catches. I don't know who's available at TE in your league, though I'd at least look to see if there's another tight end you can pick up, because you can't count on Carswell getting points for you. EDIT: He's also been charged with domestic violence battery and obstruction of an officer, and although I'd highly doubt that it'd have any affect on him being able to play, there's always that chance it could.
