That's embarassing. Hardly a ringing endorsement for the game.

Same thing I thought. I was like, if that's the end result, maybe they should have junked that Top 10, so people don't write off the game .

Man O man Arizona? Maybe U of A might be the NFL champs........

Is there a disclaimer on the box, "Not meant to obtain realistic results or season/game outcomes"?

sounds realistic, sums it up all in one sentence

'magahee is activated for the first time all season in the afc championship (conviently wearing illegal #2 for a rb), and rushes for 160 yards!'

-first game back is to start the afc championship??
-wearing #2??? illegal illegal illegal!
-160 yards, first game, after injury, rookie, wheres travis henry?

WHATS GOING ON HERE??

I suppose that the wrong time to break the seal on my brand new copy of 2K4 was right after I'd clicked on this thread and right before I read it.

The game looked unbelievably good. Must have been running on an Xbox in HD mode? Funny how they show all of the ESPN football games, then a Madden commercial comes on.

I actually find a couple of the links between EA and ESPN pretty funny, since they are supposed to be competing. Besides the tons of commercials we see for Madden on the channel, we see:

1. EA Sports NFL Matchup, which I haven't seen since the new sponsorship but I'm sure you can catch a view of Madden at some point.

2. Madden's big new feature this year was "Playmaker." ESPN's new "original" show is "Playmakers." You would think there would be some trademark issues there...

Yeah, makes me wonder how much EA is paying ESPN.

I saw that on ESPN Motion, and I don't exactly think they were predicting the season as much as showing off the graphics with interesting storylines (battle of #1 picks, McGahee and Henson playing for the first time and tearing it up, Farves final game at Lambeau, Doug Flutie throwing another miracle hail mary, David Boston vs old team and Emmit in another Super Bowl.

They built it up on sportscenter as predicting the season's outcome using the game. THey went through an entire season and showed the "hilights" of the season. I am sure they don't put any weight into what the game showed as an outcome, and I am sure you were right about them just showcasing the game. But I just found it hilarious the huge buildup of what the 2003 season would be ended up with that.

They probably believed by making up that ending with the other story lines it could help generate interest in not just the game but the 'anything can happen' NFL season

They're wrong. It makes it look like the game's sim engine stink.

I wouldn't think so, being that the word 'Playmaker' is a very common word used in sports.

I think Michael Irvin should sue both ESPN and EA Sports...
