Obligatory 'Rate My Buy'

Ok, because I've been frustrated with High Passable Derek Woodson's form troubles all year (even though he's coming 'round now) and possessing a good 300k chunk of money, I decided to buy a Solid keeper. Searching around, I found this guy and bought him for $193,000. What do you think?

Great buy. You got a mid solid, for the price low solids typically go for. I often see such players go for 225-275K.

I got my solid keeper (22yo, $394K value) for $204K, and I was pleased (American too).

Nice. My question is now whether or not I should train Keeper for a week or two before selling my backup. My backup is Derrick Woodson...21 yo passable with a $214,000 value at Weak form. According to the goalie price levels from a while ago, Weak formed keepers pop at about $235,000. Would the extra sales money for a Solid keeper be worth a week or two of training him up?

Just my opinion having sold a keeper this week...
Right now the keeper market is pretty well flooded, and there are a *lot* of passables out there with a RANGE of prices. Solids are more consistently in the 200-300k range, but since he'll be a low solid there are no guarantees. Then again, there was a keeper from the US in the US I noticed today that was solid and the owner was trying to get 1.75 million for him. Considering I got 547k for my excellent keeper....

I'm not sure how well you'd do selling a solid. I'm looking to buy a solid and am expecting to pay about 200k, so if you were to sell your passable, you probably could re-coup your cost of the new keeper, but there is really no guarantee...

I think you oughta' train for one week, and if he doesn't pop, list for a slightly high price. If he does pop, list for a normal solid price.

And if he doesn't sell when on the list, hold on to him for a few weeks as a backup (til the end of the season), then train again, and sell him early next season.

How can you tell where they are in their training cycle to know low v. medium v. high, etc?

This is my current trainee... my hope is that he pops once more before the end of the season, so I can sell him and finance the team improvements I'll need if I'm heading up to Div. IV:

I gotta side with the people who say you got a good deal. You paid a pretty low price for a solid and got a middle solid- they pop at $300ish and $500ish in passable form, if I remember correctly (Timber's at $525K right now but he's been in solid form).

good deal, i bought 1 just like him last season for 197k. I just shake my head when i see people buy Solid keepers for 250k+.

The market gets flooded with Solid keepers every week after youth pulls. Its not to hard to find one for under 200k.
