SkyDog's last act as "coordinator" of this league.

It looks like we have a number of people expressing the sentiment that Vegas Vic should be commish, and he was expressed a willingness to do so. I just wanted to make it official with a vote. If the result of the vote is in the positive, I'll give Vegas Vic mod rights for this forum, and he runs the show from here on out with regards to setting up a system for determining how we determine what player universe to use, how to allocate teams, etc.

(Non-league members, please do us the courtesy of not voting. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'd rather not make this a "private" forum. Ryan and I both can see who has voted.)

I thought your last act would involve a cigar and cuervo dressed up in a russian gymnast's outfit.

As long as I get to fraternize with certain Romanian gymnasts...that's fine with me. But I'll have to get in shape, I haven't been in tights since my wrestling days.

In case anyone is wondering, I've gone in to edit the poll to get ride of the results of the votes of three non league members. One voted yes, and two voted no.

Alright, we're up to 17-0, giving a majority already. I'm giving Vic mod rights to this forum.

Grrrr....now four people have voted who aren't members. I may end up having to take this forum private after all.

If we end up with 3-6 forums on FOFC for 3-6 leagues, it may be a major headache for you to keep them private with new members joining and old members leaving all of the time. Of course, do your job however you see fit, but I see privitization as a major headache down the road.

I agree, and I would hope common courtesy would work.

Well, Vic's already the commish before I can vote, but I will vote for him anyway if he just admits the Pac-10 plays some good football...

...naw, that could take forever, Vic for Commish, 2003!

Most leagues are going to end up having their own websites anyways. Try as they might, it'll be tough to function without a site. I'd guess with those sites forums will come. Hopefully if they do stay on FOFC they'll be public - so I can make posts like this one. If you don't encourage non-teams to participate, how will you get guys who are truly interested to fill open spots?

RPI - while non-team participation is great, votes on league issues need to be solely made by teams in the league, otherwise the integrity of the league is forfeit.

I agree that I'd like to see non-league members participate, but in votes such as this, while input is appreciated, votes are not.

USC can stand toe to toe with any team in the country.

Chief,

I meant no slight to Washington State, and I'm looking forward to watching that big clash with the Trojans on 11/1.

As for USC, I'm a big fan of Pete Carroll. He was an assistant coach for N.C. State when I went to school there. Monte Kiffin was the head coach (now with the Tampa Bay Buccs).

Sorry SD, I just voted to see the results of the poll. I didn't read the thread until after I voted. I will stay out of this forum.

Why not make a private polls forum for each league forum... sort of like how the dynasty forum has a separate forum for polls? That way, most of the forum is public, but the polls are kept private.

I'll check into that if we have another poll thread. The potential royal pain is entering 32 names into an incredibly clunky interface.

Can you put people in groups and then assign permissions based on groups in vB? I think we do that in the FOBL forums. Whenever possible, in general, it is much preferable to put people in groups and then assign permissions to those groups rather than assign them directly to individuals.

Ahhh! I'm pretty sure I can do that, and THAT interface is much more simple.
