Leagues in general

Since I missed out on the CFL because I was either blind and or stupid, I wondered how many others were actively looking for members/owners

if you have a league , or are interested in starting a league please post about it here and add a link to your website if you have one.

I'll start this off by showing off what I worked up for Sundancer's league, this is not actually running currently as he did get into the CFL, so its just a template of an idea I had for a league site. If someone wants to actually run it, they should contact Sundancer and myself to work out the details:

Major League Football

I have been thinking about it.

Should I, it would be NFL teams and cities with an NFL name file.
The other option has been covered.

I do like your website template. Looks like you guys were well on your way.

The problem, like the problem will all multi-player leagues (I am an old many years Madden online league player) is finding the right owners, or GM's in this case.
And haveing guys stay active.

But my gut feeling is the FOF crowd is much different than the Madden crowd. We shall see.

The site is just a template, we hadn't done much more than talk about starting the league up. I threw it together last night with some names and some graphics. there is a link to the breakers page to show an example of a teams page, and the forums are working, but thats really it.

I noticed the forums were up, and the team page I saw. Looks good.
Creating a web site was one of the holdups I had. I have several that I maintain, so adding another didn't really thrill me.

What is thrilling is the potential fun with FOF2004. Not being able to export to HTML is a concern, but I hope that problem goes away.

I think there are definitely enough bodies around here that are still interested in joining a league. I know I am, but a new league at this point may be best served waiting until FOF is released so we can see some of the issues the other leagues face.

Good point. I thought of that too.

There will be issues that come up with the CFL. Plus, until I have the game and can work it out, I would not want to put too much into league building, just to tear it down and re-create.

I plan on running a test league with a friend, and see what is best for structure.

LOL! Yeah, I tried to get into that league too, but no dice.

And maybe the Sooner's will win it all this year? I am a Georgia guy, so I still have hope

I'm interested in league play, but not signing up for one until I have the game and see how it will work.

I'm interested in seeing how well the CFL goes before really diving into one. If people want to have a team page based on the sample on my template above, I'd be glad to try creating helmets and logos *aka as cuervo does* for people. If you email me team info and history and such I can put together the pages and you'll have it all for whenever you do actually join a league.

I'll be adding updates to the MLF team pages, I thought I'd throw together some random fake teams that people could use in their leagues. If you have a team you want a page made for let me know.

Ren - I loved your work on the WSU scheme for NASCAR. I'd like to enlist your help with my CFL franchise, the Anchorage Snow Leopards. I am seeking a helmet/logo which features a prowling snow leopard around a stylistic "A" with the leopard's lashing tail crossing the A. Some element of snow is also a possibility, but not a requirement. Team colors are deep purple, midnight blue, and silver. If you can tinker within those parameters, I'd love to see what you can come up with. Thanks!

Take a look on the site Cougar, The blue I used is a bit more royal than midnight, and the purple is a shade or two lighter than a deep or dark purple, but the darker colors didn't blend well. I can tinker with this for you if you like.

The leopard was the hardest thing, I couldn't find a decent image of one anywhere to use as a template. The one I did use is the original jaguars image, I changed the colors and worked it into the A from Anchorage so it looks likee its leaping through the center.

Let me know if you like this, if not I'll look around a bit more for a better animal figure.

The logo is PERFECT, thanks a bunch! The colors work great, too.

I do like the helmet, but would like to tinker a bit more with some options. Can you try these out and see what you think?

(a) Reduce the size of the A and have the leopard figure diving across it, such that it crosses the A?

(b) Try it with just the leopard figure (no "A"), and add a couple of snowflakes

Thanks again, Ren, I was tickled to see such an awesome logo.

If you right click (in netscape) on the logo you want to use and select "view image" you can copy the URL for the image itself, and use that as your avatar location.

I'll play with the logo a big and try your suggestions. Glad you liked it =)

Thanks, Ren. Of the newest ones, the top one is what I had in mind, although I do like the bottom one, too. I have played around with the top one a little on my own, but I'm a real amateur at this sort of thing, so it's rough at best. It does reflect the size and angle I'd like to achieve, however. The font I used for the "A" is called Andy.

By the way, I can't figure out how to get the avatar working at the CFL website. The images are too big, and/or when I try to upload from my computer it rattles off a bunch of error messages.

Anyway, I appreciate the ongoing assistance!

The image has to be smaller than 6kb. I am working on getting this changed, if possible.

this is a setting in the setup of your board, just set it to a higher number. If you need to keep the limit that low then I can see what I can do to lower the file size. (I use the same board on my template, there is a file size option which you can enter, I set mine to like 20k or something like that)

Thanks Dark I appreciate the compliments!

for everyone's info, I'm not the league commish type persin, but I will gladly run and update the website for a new league *we have such a great start already *, so if someone out there is planning on starting a league, I will happily step up as webmaster for it.

Hey Render, how's it looking on that league? Have you found a commish? I was hoping a league would start for all of us who didn't make the CFL in time.

So give us the dish! Any updates appreciated!

As of right now no one has contacted me regarding running another league. I am currently just working up graphics for fake teams and adding them to the current template site I have. Beyond that, nothings going on at all.

I'm betting at this point most people are simply waiting for the game to come out and to see how the cfl does in its beginnings.

Hey Ren

Did you have a look at my poor attempt at the helmet? Can you give it a try like I have it with the "Andy" font? Thanks a million.

Thanks, Ren. Here are my comments from awhile back. The top one of the three is close, if you could angle the A a bit straighter, and perhaps use the font "Andy" if you have access to it.
