no doubt. i finally watched a game yesterday, and i thought i had the wrong station when i first tuned in. must be the same design company as the one who did the texas rangers alternate cap, the black-billed, blue-head hat.
the whole 3rd jersey in hockey is out of control. i understand it's about money, but c'mon, some of them are truly terrible. of course, a simple solution to the alternate jersey headache is just to design a classic uniform to begin with that doesn't need altering. |

trying to attach a Houston Oilers image has higher security than going through an airport...

Ok.. I am sure I have read the story before on here, but how exactly does a guy in Texas become an Edmanton Oilers fan... My only guess was all the series between Edmonton and Dallas in the playoffs and you chose Edmonton just to piss off the others in Texas? ![]() |

My theory is that JeeberD is a smart, intelligent, well-educated hockey fan who became an Oiler fan because it is the only sensible choice to make.
He must be good looking as well, because only good looking hockey fans are Oiler fans ![]() |

Wow klayman, you described me to a "T".... ![]() Actually, the story goes that when I was in sixth grade I moved from El Paso to Stuttgart, Germany. I had never followed hockey in El Paso (hell, I barely knew that ice existed) but I soon made friends with a couple of guys who were from the northeast. We al had our favorites teams (one guy was from the Boston area and was a Pats and Celtics fan, the other was from the Pittsburgh area and like the Pirates and and the Steelers), but when it came to hockey they had favorite teams and I didn't. One was a Pens fans, the other was a Bruins fan, but I felt all left out... Well, I decided that I needed to have a favorite team, and since there weren't any teams in Texas (the Stars were several years away) I did something that I had never done before and haven't done since. I jumped on a bandwagon. The Oilers were playing in the NHL finals and Wayne Gretzky was of course the most dominant player in the NHL, so I decided to follow them. Over the years my sister has tried to convince me that I need to become a Stars fan, but I always resist. I'm going to stick with the Oilers, no matter how much the piss me off by trading their best players every year. They almost lost me when they traded Dougie Weight, but if I can stick with them through that, I can stick with them through anything... Quote:

Jeeber, that's another one, bub.
![]() bbor, while I respect your opinion, I disagree with it. I'm actually a bit fond of our "Christmas Bull" logo, when I view it for what it is...just another freaking marketing gimick. Heck, my wife bought me a new hat with the bull on the front, and I'm wearing it as we speak. I am a victim of the marketing gods...I think I'll sue. |

They were robbed when star short stop Honus Wagner got injured and a silly franchise from Berlin (which wound up folding two seasons later) swooped in to win their division...
