What does ALL THIS MEAN?!

I'm sure there has to be a thread or website explaining all of this, but I couldn't find it.

How do the stars relate to the ratings?
How do the ratings relate to the gameplay?

How can you predict the stars/ratings?

What the heck is NSI?

Stars I believe is explained in the rules...as I was showing Hulsey, I believe I came across a rough idea of what they mean.

Ratings? I'd suggest you read the ABC of tactics. I don't have the link on me, but I do know I got Hulsey there by google searching.

You can predict this stuff by past performance and current form. Better form will give better performance. Make sense?

NSI? NevStar Index. That is the match ratings (such as midfield: wretched) found to the right of your team's match report. The match ratings are translated into numerical value

1 = disastrous
2 = wretched
and so on. Midfield, being so important, is multiplied by 3 for the NSI.

Hope this helps.

Some will say that stars are evil and don't really convey how your team as a whole is playing...

Simply put, the more star a player get, the better he is playing, but this won't really show in only one rating category.

For example, take an inner midfielder with solid passing and solid playmaking compared to an inner midfielder with weak passing but excellent playmaking. While both may get 3 stars, the solid/solid one will help your attack ratings a bit and you midfield rating a bit, while the second player will help your midfield a whole lot...

Ratings vs gameplay. Very simply put, more attack = more goals Midfield determines your ball control, and by the same token, the number of scoring chances you will get.

The games engine matches your attack to your opponent's defense (your right to his left) and then determines if the attack is succesful or not. Same is done when your opponent gets a scoring chance...

NSI stands for NevStar Index, since NevStar was sort of the first in our community to use this way of comparing our game ratings. Simply add the numerical value of all your game ratings (disastrous=1, wretched=2, poor=3, etc), with midfield counted as triple its value.

Hope this helps a bit...

You forgot 1 thing about the NSI... current week is multiplied by 3, last week is multiplied by 2 and the week before that is just added. Then it is divided 6 to get an average.

... or somethin like that.

lytic, the NSI per se is simply the one week sum of your rating (with midfield times 3). The formula you described there is the one I use to calculate the rankings points...

Which would be the complete NSI ranking formula The 1 week rating is used everywhere (hatstats)... but only *you* use it with the 3x+2x+1=NSI ranking formula!!!

go with it man... errr frog.

There once was a great and noble champion and crusader of Hattrick. He vanquished all that dared challenge him: the evil Hippos, Crawfish, and Sidekicks with queer colored uniforms, .

However, one day he was forced to leave this world. The people were sad, and they did cry out. But the great one, of course he would not leave his people empty-handed. With a mighty wave of his great arm, he bestowed on the people the greatest gift: NSI. And there was much rejoicing.

Hope that helps.

And so I'm not a total troll: ABC of Tactics. But some of these strategies will change with the new tactics.
