Not to take anything away from ausonny for winning the cup, but I think you can "un-sticky" my cup thread so that we can unclutter the top of the board. It's almost time to start talking about FOFC Cup V, anyways

I agree as well...it doesn't seem like many people were interested in the FOFC Cup this last season at all, and I think the format is to blame.

I wouldn't mind running it again, but I'm not sure if I'll have time. I could never do it right now, but I'm switching to a much lower time-intensive (And therefore stress inducing) job, so in a week or two, I'll have a much better idea of whether or not I can run a cup.

After trying both formats, I liked the group play as well. However, we had a pretty big problem with teams that signed up for the cup and then didn't participate. Several teams that advanced to the second round benefited from the walkovers. We should not do the signups so far in advance next year. Another problem was the groups were too large, and thus the tournament took too long. As the FOFC teams continue to improve , teams are going to be maker longer cup runs, and give less time for the tournament. Another issue this season was everyone's desire to have more international friendlies. Of course in the tournament, no one wanted to be the team that traveled. As our teams grow this be less of a problem - 6K doesn't mean that much and the crowds are larger.

I have some ideas of fomats that might work well, and should even have some time to help with the next cup.

Speaking of FOFC V, is there any way someone could adjust the Fed picture to show the current champion as well as a list of past champions?

I've asked this before. I wish I was good with graphics. Perhaps something I can investigate while I'm stationed in Great Lakes.
