Fritz, stop posting things that impress me. I don't want to appear to be a damn sycophant.

Very nice...very sharp. I see a couple of effects there which I know I don't yet know how to do (nevermind making the wings).

You can work in a Purple Heart for guys on IR...

your helmet helps a lot. that said, I am thinking of redrawing the helmet so I have thewhole thing available in a vector format.

Well, the helmets don't help the logos themselves, which are darned good.

It's really unfortunate that the SLE (Sports Logo Encyclopedia) has shut down, because they had versions of the helmets in vector format. When I signed up they had me sign up for either the vector section or the rasterized (?) section, and not being familiar with vector graphics I chose the latter, so all that was available to me were gif files. I'm sure the vector versions are floating around somewhere. I'll see if I can locate any. If not, I have versions of the helmets that are bigger and would be easier to work with.

that would be great. another option would be to find or build a 3D form and just skin it as needed.

No offense Fritz, but your jersey tops have way too many conflicting colors and patterns. How about just a single dominant color with trim? Or better yet, pattern it after WW2-era old school uniforms.
