FOF2k4 - Locked Player Feature
Being able to lock players into the depth chart is probably the biggest reason why I'm drooling over FOF2K4... but I have one question:
Is there a way to lock a player onto your roster, so that if you have your game set for scouts to sign and release players throughout the season as necessary, they don't release someone who might suck, but you'd want to keep around anyway? Will locking the player in the depth chart prevent him from being automatically released? |

I would think that having a player locked would have nothing to do with your scout releasing him or not...

I haven't heard this addressed, and I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

So, is that "No, there's no way to lock a player on the roster." or, "No, if you lock him in the depth chart, he can still be released." Or both? |

It's both. Although as I am sure you know it would have to be a fairly poor player for the AI to drop him.

I figured as much... I was just trying to see if there was a way to keep 4 QB's on the roster and not have to do any other micromanagement. |

Well even then there are only 3 QB slots so you could only lock in 3 of them. Although I guess you could lock your 4th one into the kick holder slot. |

That's sort of what I was thinking... No big deal... just would have made it kind of fun to save a spot or two for the hopeless losers that you get sentimental about. For example, sometimes I have great QB's that have won championships for me, but they get hurt, and have severly diminished skills afterwards. I like keeping them around just out of loyalty to them, but I always like having a great starting QB, a solid backup, and a third string "project" QB. |
