The man who was the inspiration for the book The Sweet Season, St. Johns (MN) coach John Gagliardi won the 409th game of his career today, passing Grambling's Eddie Robinson.

It's in my state, but I just can't get very excited about anything in division II or wherever St. John's plays. He definitely gets a lot out of his players though and keeps winning.

My dad played for him, and won a championship in either 1962 or 63. From what my dad and everyone else says about him, he's as classy, if not more, than everything you read about him. He deserves all of it.

I think that's very cool. I read "The Sweet Season" and was impressed by Gags. Wish I could meet him some day.
